first of the year for these beautiful hoppers - seen in all its gaudy glory beside the Combe Haven stream
This picture is an imagination of the surrounding scenery seen by insect's eyes. It's called "insect's eye lens" in Japan. Of course, I think that it sees it actually unlike... Has not you imagined it?
This beetle was on fine granite. It was taken in February 2007 so it is one of my old ones. I am not sure if it was ever posted to Flickr because most of my photos from those days are not listed as Flickr ones. I need to check the SET on Flickr to be sure but I am running late. Gone for the day.
Fossil insect wing from the Westphalian B (Upper Carboniferous) of Westhoughton, Lancashire, England, UK.
OK, this one I can't work out - if anyone knows what it is I would be grateful. Found on the ground under large Eucalyptus viminalis. Only seen two in 5 years or so.

You have no idea how incredibly proud of myself I am over this picture :P
Taken in Billingham Beck Valley Country Park (aka: "Billy Bottoms")
I saw two rabbits (one of them may have been a hare, i'm not sure), and it seems that they are not at all keen on having their picture taken. Dammit.
Two walking-stick insects mating in a garden in McDonald's Corners, Ontario Canada. The small brown one is the male and the much larger green one is the female.
Insect and flower. I shot this series with Olympus TOUGH TG-5 by using (normal) macro feature. In this case I could not use extended focus because insect was moving way too fast and it was quite challange to get some photos even with normal macro. I shot over 200 photos to get these few. However with compact macro (with small sensor size) this is somewhat easier than with full frame sensor DSLR and macro lens. Hausjärvi, Finland. 28.8.2017
