This is the first Arctic Blue Plebejus/Agriades glandon rustica I've seen this year. They generally hang out at over 7,000 feet but over the years I've noticed a lot of these little critters down here at 5,000 feet as well.
A couple of months ago this tree trunk was washed onto the rocks on Prestwick beach but over the past weeks it has become somewhat of a bonus for those with log fires! It is indeed getting smaller, slowly, as people are sawing, cutting large pieces from it. One day it will disappear!!

These old buildings were built around 1760 and sit on St Nicholas Golf Course - originally these were salt pans drawing water from the Firth of Clyde and withdrawing the salt. It is thought the higher section of the buildings were used as living quarters.
Today, they stand proud bordering the 1st and 3rd greens.

Last thing I expected to see was a Mallard Duck walking down the street in my neighbourhood. Soon as he saw me he took off flying.
