Moose (Alces alces) amongst spring foliage, Upper Lillooet River, 2014. One of the beauties of driving to work at 4:30 am is the abundance of wildlife that are out and about. I have driven this road many times in the daytime and thought that it appeared to be the perfect moose habitat. Drive by super early - there it is:)

The Kwoiek Creek Hydroelectric Project is a 50/50 partnership between Innergex and the Kanaka Bar Indian Band. Today, the BC government announced a revenue-sharing agreement that will enable the Kanaka Bar Indian Band to share revenue from the project.

Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister John Rustad joins Kanaka Bar Indian Band Chief James Frank to celebrate a revenue-sharing agreement for the Kwoiek Creek Hydroelectric Project near Lytton. Joining the minister and chief for a tour of the facility were Michel Letellier (President and CEO, Innergex Renewable Energy) and Richard Blanchet (Senior VP Western Region, Innergex Renewable Energy), area MLAs Jackie Tegart, Laurie Throness and Marc Dalton, and representatives from BC Hydro.

The First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund will get a three-year increase of $2.1 million with a focus on helping communities reduce their reliance on diesel generators to supply electricity. Meanwhile, BC will invest more than $2.1 million for five new First Nations training projects through the Aboriginal Skills Training Development.
