Homework in the winter break?!! Yes, young monks have a lot more to do than light candles and chant. They have to go to Monastic school and study the scriptures of the faith as well as scripts and books unique to their individual monasteries. They even have exams! You’ll see monks with notebooks sitting out in the sun with their teachers for extra lessons when school’s out. As you can tell from his expression, he’s not a very happy monk right now. He’s just been given some extra homework by his teacher to pullup on his grades. But This expression lasts only a few minutes and then he was back to smiling.
Monastery or regular school, kids always find their smiles!

I dance in this path of healing and rediscovery of myself...finding the love of family and dignity. I'm over a year out now since my marriage ended...this path is ongoing...
This is my choice for week #24 of 52 Weeks of 2017.
I find peace in the countryside, but my inner peace comes from being part of a family.
This is looking through part of a sculpture called "Family of Man" by Barbara Hepworth.
The Panjim Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is placed on the hillside in central Panjim (Panaji or Ponje). It is one of Panjim’s best attractions and is the first church of Goa, built in 1541. In the year 1871, the great bell belonging to the Augustinian Church of Our Lady (Old Goa) was installed here.
The Panjim Church has a simple interior. The main altar is honoured to Mary Immaculate, and it has two more altars, on the left is Jesus crucified and to the right is Our Lady of the Rosary.
The area above the church on hilltop is called Bairro Altos de Pilotos because large beacons used to be lit here to guide ships into the estuary before the light house. On the right side of the church down to the lane little further is Secretariat Building.
Further down the street you will find a beautiful Hindu Mahalaxmi Temple which is main temple in Panjim.
The feast of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church is celebrated on 8th December every year.
An excerpt: Self-realisation is not possible without a Universal Spiritual Guide. All you know right now is what you can see in a mirror. That’s all you know about yourself. What is inside you is hidden from you and only God has the keys.

Navigating the Unknown
As dusk settles in, the mountain air is thick with unspoken thoughts as I walk a familiar yet uncharted path. Two figures, their faces obscured in contemplation, walk alongside me. Their presence is a silent reminder of my journey—a mix of exhilarating peaks and despairing valleys. The twilight, caught between day and night, reflects the in-betweenness of my existence, a liminal space where past and future blur. Each step forward is an act of faith, a surrender to the unknown, a feeling I'm sure many of you can relate to. The destination? The journey itself, along with the transformation it, sparks within me. Still, like the persistent mountain shadows, a question lingers: who are these companions on my path? Their identities remain covert, their purpose a mystery—a riddle waiting to be unravelled in the memories of my becoming.

In this madness of resistance, to live without resistance is, in fact, madness; in this madness of fear, to live without fear is, in fact, crazy; in this madness of desire, to live without desire is, in fact, crazy; in this madness of addiction, to live free from the idea of owning something is, in fact, crazy. So here, the sanity is this holy madness; it is the Grace in Its madness. ~Master Gualberto ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Photo: Ramanashram Gualberto, Brazil. Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and fourteen metres, at 11:02am on Saturday 14th September 2013, Just before Aberfeldy on the shoreline of Loch Tay, nestled in the Tay Forest Park near Kenmore off the A827.
Kenmore (Cheannmhor) is a small village in Perthshire in the Highlands of Scotland where Loch Tay drains into the River Tay. A gentle stroll here and some time spent sitting on the pebbled shoreline, just chilling out and admiring the natural beauty all about me.

In our task-oriented cultures, one of the real dangers is to slip into an episodic mode of living. Which means the happenings of our day-today lives can be episodic, one after another, like the episodes of a soap opera, there is always something happening, but nothing really happens. In every episode, there is drama- activity takes place, words are muttered but nothing really happens. People abusing one another, people using one another people taking about one another, people plotting and scheming, but nothing meaningful ever happens. Their lives are filled with superficialities, and they are constantly restless and miserable. There is no theme, no thread - just another entertaining episode.
When the days and weeks of our lives become like this, we grow depressed, disillusioned and miserably unhappy. The reason is that without a clear sense of purpose and meaning of our lives, the emptiness is overwhelming. We try to fill the void with pleasure and possessions, but the emptiness is unaffected by such trivialities. There are moments of pleasure, but they are brief in a long succession of 24-hour days.
Who you become is infinitely more important than what you have or what you do. The meaning and purpose of life is for you to become the-best-version-of-yourself. Discover a deep and abiding interior peace. The peace that comes from knowing that who you are, where you are and what you do is essentially good and makes sense; hat you are contributing to your own happiness and the happiness of others; and that you are always progressing toward becoming the-best-version-of-yourself.
The true Ahimsa (non-violence) begins from our inner-self, when we stop being over critical for our own self, punish ourselves for our mistakes and not deprive ourselves of what we deserve. Three gemstones (sort of, since pearl is technically not a gem) form this pendant, two of which work in highly mystic ways to take basal energy to the pinnacle, that is, from root chakra to crown chakra. In the process of so it eliminates some unfounded fears, restless nightmares, baseless insecurities, energy circulation, and bring about grounding, calming, strengthening and awakening, thus inner non-violence.
