THE HEY SANDY STILL HERE REFERS TO HURRICANE SANDY THAT HIT NEW ENGLAND IN OCTOBER. THIS NEIGHBORHOOD WAS WITHOUT POWER FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. ITS STILL HERE!
We ventured into an abandoned area of our city's military base and found this awesome graffiti.
At first we thought the silhouette was a trick of the light, but after studying the work, we realized it was indeed the drawing of a sitting man, a desperate man, in deep contemplation. We loved it immediately.
By the way, the twisted metal to the left? We really felt the artist had purposely put it there as part of his composition; I couldn't leave it out. Besides, I think it adds great texture. Hope you agree.
Wish I knew who this artist was. I would campaign for the city to protect this work.
Here is a link to my blog if you would like to read the rest of the story.

... with one arm behind her back.
Artist: S.B.
I was lost when I found this mural in a neglected inner-city part of Cincinnati.
Anyhow, I suspect the watered down title of this work would be:
"Up yours!"
Although these are the most prosperous of times, the sentiments from a lost community say otherwise.

In an alley in the Over-the-Rhine area of Cincinnati, Ohio. Obviously this is a takeoff from The Incredible Hulk, but I can't read the last word.

Ryu Hyun-jin, 25 year-old, pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, sits next to a young fan who is shocked to learn that some of the baseball players will learn to dance with her in a later session, in an Inner-City Arts classroom, located on Skid Row in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, January 25th, 2013. As a child, Hyun-jin had the opportunity to meet his heroes, he hopes that his visit to the Inner-City Arts center will provide the same opportunity to other children.
