This guy was from Germany but traveled the world wearing casts. This shot was from 2007-2008 in Mexico. Not sure if he had an unstable ankle (like I used to) or what his situation was exactly. He had some good looking casts over the years though.
Looks like one sprained his ankle and the other possibly had a knee ailment. But even while crippled you should not miss the games!
First of two casts for torn Achilles and rear foot tendons. This was taken right after it had fully dried! 8 more weeks! I had to cut those jeans off btw...never wear tight/tighter jeans on the day you're probably going to get a cast on. Wear shorts always, or sweatpants.
Life still goes on. That cast looks pretty fresh! It was the second cast that I wore for this injury. I wasn't healed yet so my doctor put me in another one. I also was not pain-free yet so did another week or so on the crutches.
That doesn't look comfortable - I've tried this myself at work and it didn't work, my back got sore haha! It's better to put your leg on a chair.
Taken by a university student in Guatemala, of another university student! Actually, the cast was on his right foot; this shot was taken in a mirror I think he said? The classical wooden crutches totally ice the cake of a remarkable photo.
Let's get some fresh air! I wasn't quite walking again, still hobbling on crutches but the next week I ditched the crutches finally after 7 weeks. One guy who saw this cast said, "Whoa, look at that sexy purple beast!"
It would've been a bumblebee cast if they'd done black stripe on it. At least he got the black underpadding/stocking though. Yeah you can still work out with broken or sprained leg/foot/ankle/knee problems. Gym on crutches/scooter works fine. I used to live right near this guy's gym!
It got him two casts, and the scooter is undoubtedly a better way to shop than having to use crutches with a broken arm
I believe these two gentlement worked in the same company. Not sure what happened to them but one got the full-fledged non-weight bearing combo (cast and crutches) and the other got what could be either full or partial-weight bearing (boot and scooter.)
School continues on even if you have broken bones. Unless you have serious pain going on, you can still go to class usually.
Nice aerial shot and always good to see plaster in this day and age. This shot is from about 2013, or maybe longer ago even.
I LOVE this restaurant. But not just for the food. In 2018 I broke the other ankle (not this one with the cast) and was in bad pain and driving around on Memorial Day looking for an open urgent care. But I had to use the restroom urgently. They let me into their no-public-access restroom without buying anything because they could see I was crippled and in terrible pain. I have been a regular patron of the restaurant ever since.
When casted, you have to stay comfortable. One way to do it is to wear a comfy slide on your good foot.
Well, not the best attempt at a candycane cast but it'll pass. That's one thing I've kind of missed in all the casts I've had, I've never had a stripe one. If I ever have to wear another cast again, I am going to DEMAND IT! LOL!
4 weeks of this cast, with 1 week of partial weight-bearing on crutches and 3 weeks of walking on it.
If you have an LLC, driving is not recommended - and it's probably illegal in most places if the cast is on your right leg. But if it's on your left, you may be able to, at your own risk. The situation is exactly the opposite in the UK and other places with right-hand-side driving.
Wearing a cast - on any limb actually - can take more out of a person than you might think. Hobbling around on crutches, or even while in an arm cast, requires constant effort to compensate for the body part that can't be used. Solution? Sleep it off.
Is it illegal to drive with a cast on your gas pedal foot? Maybe in some areas. But it's not safe, either way. I've driven with a boot on my gas pedal foot. Not easily but it can be done.
Depending on the injury, it can be ok to actually take it off, drive, then put it back on.

This looks like a cast but it isn't! It's a stabilizing lower leg wrap. I was in it for a week or so after hurting my leg running. I re-injured a tendon in the back of my knee and a calf muscle. It hurt really bad. I limped around in this splint thing for a week or so.
Partial weight bearing with crutches for another week after getting a second cast on for my torn Achilles and rear foot tendons.
Very very old shot from about 2010 or even longer - this shot was a rather popular one. It may have come from a magazine or some publication.
Yeah, I know this scenario all too well, those first moments back in the office with a cast or boot and crutches or scooter or some walking aid.
RESPECT. Crippled, but still doing manual labor. He's adorable too., I'm loving that mop of thick hair.
This is what I used to do in the old days to help with my ankle problems. Put on an old cast by fastening the two halves together with an ace bandage.
