Abstract:
Many have noticed that security procedures followed by human beings follow rules similar to those of security
protocols and should be formally analyzable in a similar way. Such procedures may involve computers and computer network protocols, but can also involve people interactive with computers and other devices, people interacting with each other, and people interactive with the physical world. This work concerns people interacting with the physical world. We develop a logical system for describing and reasoning about physical security properties involving people and objects moving through a system. We apply the logic to several airport security protocols, and discuss how this could be integrated into the Procedure Derivation logic being developed.
