Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, presents his challenge coin and letters of appreciation to members of the Virginia Army National Guard information technology community Feb. 11, 2021, in Richmond, Virginia, in recognition of their efforts preparing for the Command Cyber Readiness Inspection held in November 2020. U.S. Cyber Command conducts the inspection on the Non-secured Internet Protocol Router network and on the Secured Internet Protocol Router network, and the VaARNG achieved an 82.5% Excellent score on the NIPR portion and a 79% Acceptable on the SIPR portion of the inspection, with 70% being the passing score. An old tube monitor we found in one of the neighboring offices near the campus. I used to have one of these, but it blew out because I mistakenly covered the vents with a blanket!
Scott Community College's Information Technology program hosted 70 people for an Hour of Coding workshop. The group consisted of mostly elementary and middle school students, with a few older ones mixed in. It was part of the national Hour of Code promotion. www.eicc.edu/it
