High School students from Marshall Academy in Falls Church, Va. shadowed DoDEA Headquarters’ IT division on 24 Feb. 2011 as part of IT Job Shadow Day. The program, which is recognized throughout the Department of Defense, encourages local high school students with an interest in Information Technology to consider a career in the federal government.
Students got a first hand look at what IT professionals serving DoDEA schools in Europe, the Pacific, and stateside do on a day to day basis and some of the challenges they face.

NEC’s Enterprise Technology Unit (ETU) held its National Sales Conference at the Fairmont Hotel, located amid the lush greenery of Palm Park and Waller Creek in Austin, Texas. The event brought together NEC’s Unified Communications (UC) and Enterprise IT professionals and executives from around the country to recognize the past fiscal year’s accomplishments and get an in depth understanding of current year priorities from NEC leadership. Outstanding performers were honored and recognized with the President’s Club award.

Scott Community College's Information Technology program hosted 70 people for an Hour of Coding workshop. The group consisted of mostly elementary and middle school students, with a few older ones mixed in. It was part of the national Hour of Code promotion. www.eicc.edu/it
