The search for knowledge has consumed human intelligence from remote time, and in today's “information age” not much has changed: we want knowledge and we want it now. But without understanding the subtle distinction between ordinary information and true knowledge we may mistake the information overload in the palm of our hand as proof that we now know it all. While it has certainly produced a lot of conveniences for modern humans by understanding physical processes, those conversant with yoga wisdom understand that the contemporary scientific method does not have the conceptual framework to fully satisfy our desire to know.
According to Bhagavad Gita, a complete knowledge system must provide both information of the changeable, the material, as well as knowledge of the unchangeable, the nonmaterial. And in order to truly serve humanity, ultimately it must inform us of the source of both energies, thereby resolving the essential “why?” questions. Why can’t human beings live together peacefully? Why am I here? Why can’t I find real happiness? Bhakti wisdom provides that superlative information technology.
“I shall now tell you about everything, both material and spiritual. This being known, nothing further shall remain for you to know.”
- Bhagavad Gita
