"Focus to Infinity" was a photography contest on facebook that CEU alumni and students participated in between October 8 and November 8, 2010.
The contestants of “Focus to Infinity” went on a hunt for the infinite forms and manifestations of the Infinity sign-- ∞ -- anywhere and all over the world: from the roof tiles to the clouds, in jewellery shops and pairs of sunglasses.
The top 5 submissions with the most Facebook “Like”s won some fabulous prizes from the CEU Alumni Relations & Career Services team.

As the sun sank the colours on the bridge and the water I was using for the double exposure changed, the water surface ripples giving the lovely texture on this double exposure. There is no post processing, this is all in camera.

Infinity Mirrored Room - Filled with the Brilliance of Life, 2011/2017
Entering this installation, you move along a reflective walkway over a shallow pool. Around you, tiny dots of light are repeated endlessly in the mirrors and water. The lights pulse, like a heartbeat or a ticking clock. Even while we experience infinite space, we are made aware of time passing.
The effects Kusama creates relate to her own visual hallucinations. Kusama has experienced these from early in her life. In them she becomes ‘obliterated’ by repeated dots. Here she invites us to share this ‘self-obliteration’. The dots surround and engulf you, making it hard to tell where you end and where the rest of the room begins. Usually, when we experience art, there’s a clear distinction between us and the artwork. But Kusama confuses this on purpose. To experience her mirror rooms, she asks us to become part of them.

Tate presents a rare chance to experience two of Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms. These immersive installations will transport you into Kusama’s unique vision of endless reflections.
Infinity Mirrored Room – Filled with the Brilliance of Life is one of Kusama’s largest installations to date and was made for her 2012 retrospective at Tate Modern. It is shown alongside Chandelier of Grief, a room which creates the illusion of a boundless universe of rotating crystal chandeliers.
A small presentation of photographs and moving image – some on display for the first time – provides historical context for the global phenomenon that Kusama’s mirrored rooms have become today.

GTS Celebrity Infinity is a Millennium Class cruise ship owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises. It was launched in 2001 as Infinity, and renamed Celebrity Infinity in 2007. During the summer cruising season, it cruises Alaska, and during the winter cruising season, South America; including Chile, Argentina, Panama, and Uruguay.
The ship boasts a two-story dining room, called the Trellis Dining Room. It also has a two-story theater called the Celebrity Theater. After being renovated in 2011, the ship has acquired many new features that are on the Solstice class ships, such as Cafe al Bacio or Bistro on Five. Other things added were an updated Oceanview Cafe, new carpets and decoration, as well as a wine restaurant called Cellar Masters. The whole Grand Foyer was redone and the ship was renamed Celebrity Infinity.
Infinity also features a restaurant with original fixtures and china from the legendary ocean liner SS United States, which still holds the transatlantic speed record to this day.
2016 accident[edit]
On June 3, 2016, Infinity was docking in Ketchikan, Alaska, and crashed into the dock on the port side, causing a hole in the ship's hull above the water line, and heavily damaging the dock. Winds were gusting to 45 miles per hour from the ship's starboard side at the time of the accident, which accelerated the ship's approach. There were no injuries.[2] In addition to the damage to the ship, the collision caused $2–3 million in damage to the dock.[3]
