Taken at Rhossili today and this might well relate to me. This afternoon we went to Rhossili to photo the poppy fields where I asked the NT Warden which was the best place to park, being a Blue Badge Holder. I was pointed to the same place where I captured the sunflowers last year but it turns out it was the furthest point from the field. To say it was a struggle to find the field is understatement but determined as ever I made it. Then we we went for a late lunch and I used my 'Doris ‘ Bike' to go to Worm's Head. Following on from that we travelled directly into Swansea for our MS Support Group Meeting. Naturally , my legs will complain in the morning, but was it worth it? You betcha ! After all 'Life IS for Living!

I dropped by my local woodland lunchtime and whilst I was on my knees beneath a bank of snowdrops, a dog walker came by and started throwing a ball for his dog. He appeared to be oblivious of me, so I took a quick grab shot of his dog waiting for the next throw of the ball before they moved away.

One for Macro Mondays theme of April Fools' Day.

Image size shot in comments.

A poppy from the garden, remembering those who lost their lives in conflicts past and present.

The reflection is in a bit of shiny packaging.

See Macro Mondays version in my photostream.

Another from the Lensbaby walk with Polina Plotnikova at Sheffield Park Gardens.

A Flower in a Novel Manner for Challenge 2019.

Treasure Hunt Monthly Project 10: October Lensbaby Image.

I wanted to capture this before it died off completely - this is the only flower head that's left.

By far not the best moon shot I've uploaded in my time but fitting for today, the day after The General Election here in the UK. No matter people's views about the outcome, the world keeps on turning as it always does, we move on .

The irony here though is that I spotted this through my kitchen window and had hoped to get the moon as it was dipping behind the trees but the phone in my pocket rang , it was my GP before her daily surgery ringing to give me advice over ( yet another ) drug reaction . One thing I do fear for in the light of the new government is for the future for our NHS which is already torn every which way.

Only those with a knowledge of the Welsh Language would know that 'Allan' means 'Exit' or 'Out' in English but that's the way it was spelled when the centre he came from named him , hence the caption . Taken at the British Birds of Prey Centre, at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales today.

Just to add that the only way I've managed to upload this is to email the original to my iPad , save and uploaded from there :/

Clearing leaves from the drive, and Dave managed to dig up this approx 6" slow worm out of the gravel. It was happy to be re-covered afterwards.

Ready for Macro Mondays tomorrow, this is my version of Knolling, described in the group as "the process of arranging similar objects in parallel or at 90 degree angles as a method of organisation".

Thinking of things small enough, I mused on board games, and came up with this idea.

Because the items aren't totally flat, I wanted to make the most of the shapes by including strong shadows. Photographed in my bay window in full sunlight.

Brand and Logos for Macro Mondays.

I can't think of a better logo to see if you're in danger on the seas around the UK coastline. As an ex-sea kayaker, the RNLI are very close to my heart.

A 1" pin badge, one of a collection of 10 from Alex's 10 years as a member of Storm Force, the children's supporters group of the RNLI. Photographed on a silk scarf for the huge waves...

I am following a fantastic photographic project.

lifeboatstationproject.com/

Jack Lowe is over halfway through his 8 year mission of photographing all the RNLI lifeboat stations around the UK using the wet-plate collodion technique.

I'm sure some of you have heard of this, but if you haven't, or are just following him, please consider becoming a Patron. The starter amount is around £3 per month. I feel it is worth the price of one coffee a month to keep Neena, his ambulance converted into a darkroom, on the road.

His images are beautiful, and the regular Patron blogs and podcasts often take you to places where the volunteers have been in difficult circumstances.

Jonah 3:6

"The word reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes".

Macro Mondays theme of Cloth, and "Sackcloth and Ashes" was my first thought. My mannequin helped out (approx 2" in view).

Thank you to Graeme Churchard for the inspiration.

There are currently so many colourful flowers in our back garden that it's difficult to choose the one for my POTD but I've chosen this - another pleasant surprise from the wildflower patch

Which corner I'd like to know because it was damp and drizzly this morning but at least it's warmer than of late.

Blame my husband for the caption. It was caused his excitement on seeing first the Sweet Pea out of the ones he planted from seed blooming beautifully in the garden this morning.

Taken in my local woodlands this morning

... to the family of this old gent who'd bought him a personal experience Spitfire Flight to the tune of £2,750 . Seen at The Solent Airport, Lee on Solent today.

"Knolling is the process of arranging similar objects in parallel or at 90 degree angles as a method of organisation. " I thought I'd revisit last Monday's "Macro Mondays" theme of knolling to see if I could improve on it. It would have looked Ok, I feel if the shell on bottom right hadn't had a mind of its own.

A play on yet another very wet day...

All hands on deck today in prep for our Charity Dinner tomorrow. Been on the road all day picking up auction donations, starting in Swansea itself to pick up two canvases and ended up meeting a friend at the tearooms at Carreg Cennen Castle - someone we know who, as one of his pastimes makes canes out of wood in his locale then whittles away at other pieces making them in to the heads of birds and other creatures by melding them onto the cane. Weather was dull and dreary to get a photo too near the castle so doubt if it this gives any indication of its height.

"Carreg Cennen Castle is a castle near the River Cennen, in the village of Trapp, four miles south of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The castle is within the Brecon Beacons National Park, and its location has been described as spectacular, due to its position above a limestone precipice. It has been in a ruinous state since 1462 and is now in the care of Cadw, the Welsh Government historic environment service"

Our friends in Hampshire bought us an early Christmas present which now takes pride of place on our front doorstep.

Friday was such a dismal day, I decided to shoot my Macro Mondays shot there and then.

Lego Dude went fishing off the tidal swimming pool, but caught something unexpected!

Shark almost 3" long. Photographed against an image of waves from Summerleaze Pool in January.

A visit to Gigrin Farm Red Kite feeding station Mid Wales today. The last time I visited was a whole nine years ago . I don't know if this is the same leucistic Red Kite that I captured then because as far as I know leucistic birds don't tend to live as long as non - leucistic ones. Not too sure if I've captured it eyes sharply either so a documentary shot.

Another rainy days so thought I'd try something different

A long day out today at The National Botanic Gardens of Wales incorporating a visit to the British Birds of Prey Centre there. With over 400 photos taken, I chose this as my POTD because there was very little editing to be done

Junk for Macro Mondays.

I had a rummage in my junk drawer (a concept my Mum started) and found this. Makes me realise how much junk I have bought as Christmas stocking fillers. All totally useless...

Die is 1" across. Photographed on an obsolete laptop.

Today has been all about the birds and the bees in my garden, but this little blue tit taken through double glazing won the prize of being my Photo a Day

Too hot to sleep so took this from my patio this morning.

A spot of birdwatching for the afternoon.

I'm used to being woken up by the sunrise but today I was woken up by this moon shining in through my bedroom window - a good half hour or more before sunrise.

... and a time to every purpose

under heaven...

This a part of the hydrangea bush in my garden on the turn due to autumn. The caption is part of a folk song but also part of a Biblical Quotation (Ecclesiastes 3 vs1) and pertinent to my own life at the mo, in so much as that in a previous 365 upload I. alluded to the fact that I was going to make enquiries into taking part in a Clinical Trial to slow down progression in MS ( Multiple Sclerosis) It emerged that my Neurologist contacted me first (by phone) and offered me a place on it but when I read and digested the information pack which subsequently arrived in the post, I declined. There was no compulsion to give my reasons and therefore 'mouth zipped' on Flickr :)

A rose given to us by our son for a significant Wedding Anniversary two years ago. Read what you will into the caption but this was taken with an older lens and a decision has been made about the broken one. Seeing as I only had it in 2016 and its been in for repair three times since then, tomorrow I'll be going to Carmarthen Cameras to see if they have a Canon 80D in stock, used or unused.

A wander around the woods to see if the bluebells are right yet. They probably need another week...

Always love a bit of ICM in bluebell woods to get rid of the mess.

Camera Club Challenge 2019 April topic: Woodland.

FCB's 52 Week Challenge for Week 16: Movement.

A bit of a mare on Flickr today with so many Bad Pandas so I gave up with my original shot . I'm glad I did because I later saw beautiful colours in the sky - taken through my back bedroom window at sunset.

A play in PS on a wet day...

Taken at silly o'clock (once again) as I was sitting on my bed watching the day break having been awoken by the dawn chorus -and whilst sitting contemplating too much to go into here. However i did think it apt that it might signify a new dawn for Flickr.

If anyone follows @FlickrHelpor @FlickrStatus on Twitter then you'll see they did and are still working hard to keep us informed - not a particular fan of Twitter myself and prefer the Welsh name of 'Trydar' for it - it has a gentler feel to it.

One of my better ISS images...

Hiding away at the bottom of my neighbours' garden!

For Macro Mondays topic of Closed, my mind went straight to a game played on the Sun Khosi riverbank in Nepal in 2013.

The beer bottle was manipulated in all sorts of directions, then the holder would say "Open and Closed?" Really they meant or, but this was just another delight from the wonderful Nepali guides on our 9 day kayaking trip with riverside camps.

We would all guess, usually getting it wrong. I can confirm that this is definitely "Closed".

Have you worked it out yet?

2" high approximately.

Taken on a lunchtime stroll at RSPB Cwm Clydach.

I'd hoped to have waved in May 1st with a mahoosive Flag Iris in my garden but the first head to flower opened up in front of our ugly garden archway. So instead I went to great lengths to photo this instead. The 'great lengths' were using every conceivable lens I own from 60mm macro, our 'his 'n hers' 100mm macro right up to my 400mm at full zoom because it's so far back in the border. I was dicing with death ( really? 😅 ) kneeling on soil which my significant better half had just turned over ready to plant another flower. Oh and I also flipped it back to front because my eyes weren't comfy with it facing the other way....

A day at The National Botanic Gardens of Wales incorporating The British Birds of Prey Centre. This is the co-owner / director Alex with Lily the Little Owl. Guaranteed to entertain , amuse and educate on each and every visit.

Torrential rain overnight which continued into today with us being invited to meet with friends in their static van in deepest West Wales. Only one thing for it for a POtD was to take a shot through the car window....

Yet another rainy day shot. This is something I wrapped up and brought home last night after dining out.

A preferred one for the Treasure Hunt: 26 Ears.

I just love donkey's ears!

Down to Bognor for a BRCC workshop. Half an hour on the beach at low tide for some sand patterns before heading to Felpham.

A play with the latest Photoshop craze and some Dolly Mixtures.

A cropped version of the original and another twirled one for Macro Mondays coming up in my photostream...

I needed to drop off a birthday pressie to a friend of mine today , so took the opportunity to take a stroll around Brynmill Park, Swansea. This made for a colourful picture on the dullest of days. I've placed the other view of it in comments.
