A bit of wheelspin added in PS to a toy Lamborghini.
Macro Mondays Wheel(s).
Car is 4.25" long, photographed at an angle and cropped for the 3" rule...
A play with the Lensbaby on the camera club photoshoot to the bluebell woods. .
Trying to "shoot through" the ones in front of my subjects as well as maximise the Lensbaby effect.
Treasure Hunt Monthly Project 04: April Lensbaby Image
In other words a Camellia Seed Pod. I noticed earlier today that the camellia bush in my front garden has lots of buds and a few blooms on it. What caught my eye though was the number of these on it.
Clearing leaves from the drive, and Dave managed to dig up this approx 6" slow worm out of the gravel. It was happy to be re-covered afterwards.
A crazy day so a crazy photo..... crazy/busy what with trying to prepare to go to London ( business , not pleasure - sort of) and with Huw trying to find time to repair and treat some garden fences. In a moment of madness, I put old Kermit the Frog here on one of them . I thought that when he'd see it I'd get that 'rolls eyes' kind of look but on the contrary he laughed out loud. Phew!
Southern Enduro mtb race at Pippingford Park.
Three shots of different riders at the same feature. (Not taken on burst facility).
Difficult lighting conditions, so ISO higher than I would have liked. Some interesting routes taken by competitors!
Macro Mondays theme of Main Meal had to be a grab shot on Saturday, as I was hungry and wanted my dinner!
Homemade steak, mushroom and red wine pie with creamy mash and petit pois. Washed down with red wine, of course!
Pie is 4" in diameter, and only approx 2" visible, as a quarter slice cut out to show the filling.
Ready for Macro Mondays tomorrow, this is my version of Knolling, described in the group as "the process of arranging similar objects in parallel or at 90 degree angles as a method of organisation".
Thinking of things small enough, I mused on board games, and came up with this idea.
Because the items aren't totally flat, I wanted to make the most of the shapes by including strong shadows. Photographed in my bay window in full sunlight.
Desperate weather calls for desperate photo editing so these are some freesias that I have in a vase in my kitchen-a tad past their best , though no one is perfect any way. Another upload and run shot because we've got tickets for Jesus Christ Superstar later in Swansea Grand and a pre - theatre meal booked. Excited much ( to use my local vernacular) ;-)
Taken at Rhossili today and this might well relate to me. This afternoon we went to Rhossili to photo the poppy fields where I asked the NT Warden which was the best place to park, being a Blue Badge Holder. I was pointed to the same place where I captured the sunflowers last year but it turns out it was the furthest point from the field. To say it was a struggle to find the field is understatement but determined as ever I made it. Then we we went for a late lunch and I used my 'Doris ‘ Bike' to go to Worm's Head. Following on from that we travelled directly into Swansea for our MS Support Group Meeting. Naturally , my legs will complain in the morning, but was it worth it? You betcha ! After all 'Life IS for Living!
I dropped by my local woodland lunchtime and whilst I was on my knees beneath a bank of snowdrops, a dog walker came by and started throwing a ball for his dog. He appeared to be oblivious of me, so I took a quick grab shot of his dog waiting for the next throw of the ball before they moved away.
A play with the latest Photoshop craze and some Dolly Mixtures.
A cropped version of the original and another twirled one for Macro Mondays coming up in my photostream...
Jonah 3:6
"The word reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes".
Macro Mondays theme of Cloth, and "Sackcloth and Ashes" was my first thought. My mannequin helped out (approx 2" in view).
Thank you to Graeme Churchard for the inspiration.
Brand and Logos for Macro Mondays.
I can't think of a better logo to see if you're in danger on the seas around the UK coastline. As an ex-sea kayaker, the RNLI are very close to my heart.
A 1" pin badge, one of a collection of 10 from Alex's 10 years as a member of Storm Force, the children's supporters group of the RNLI. Photographed on a silk scarf for the huge waves...
I am following a fantastic photographic project.
Jack Lowe is over halfway through his 8 year mission of photographing all the RNLI lifeboat stations around the UK using the wet-plate collodion technique.
I'm sure some of you have heard of this, but if you haven't, or are just following him, please consider becoming a Patron. The starter amount is around £3 per month. I feel it is worth the price of one coffee a month to keep Neena, his ambulance converted into a darkroom, on the road.
His images are beautiful, and the regular Patron blogs and podcasts often take you to places where the volunteers have been in difficult circumstances.
Only those with a knowledge of the Welsh Language would know that 'Allan' means 'Exit' or 'Out' in English but that's the way it was spelled when the centre he came from named him , hence the caption . Taken at the British Birds of Prey Centre, at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales today.
Just to add that the only way I've managed to upload this is to email the original to my iPad , save and uploaded from there :/

A trip to Newhaven for rough seas. Not quite as rough as we hoped. Here's fellow 365er, and my partner in photographic endeavours Liz Barber in typical pose on the beach.

There are currently so many colourful flowers in our back garden that it's difficult to choose the one for my POTD but I've chosen this - another pleasant surprise from the wildflower patch
Blame my husband for the caption. It was caused his excitement on seeing first the Sweet Pea out of the ones he planted from seed blooming beautifully in the garden this morning.
At last the sun came out today, and I went for a wander around the garden, looking for fungi. I wasn't disappointed.
These little souls were enjoying the sun.
Shown in portrait format following last night's presentation by John Dominick at Bognor Regis Camera Club.
I think I prefer the landscape one though, just got to decide whether to try and reshoot with more depth of field?
Friday was such a dismal day, I decided to shoot my Macro Mondays shot there and then.
Lego Dude went fishing off the tidal swimming pool, but caught something unexpected!
Shark almost 3" long. Photographed against an image of waves from Summerleaze Pool in January.
... to the family of this old gent who'd bought him a personal experience Spitfire Flight to the tune of £2,750 . Seen at The Solent Airport, Lee on Solent today.

Storrington CC visited Graham Murrell's Rhythms and Riffs photographic exhibition at West Dean Gardens. Martin decided to try and stick to square format B&W for the day, so I gave it a try.
Here's a 3x3 I produced with some of my images from the gardens.
All hands on deck today in prep for our Charity Dinner tomorrow. Been on the road all day picking up auction donations, starting in Swansea itself to pick up two canvases and ended up meeting a friend at the tearooms at Carreg Cennen Castle - someone we know who, as one of his pastimes makes canes out of wood in his locale then whittles away at other pieces making them in to the heads of birds and other creatures by melding them onto the cane. Weather was dull and dreary to get a photo too near the castle so doubt if it this gives any indication of its height.
"Carreg Cennen Castle is a castle near the River Cennen, in the village of Trapp, four miles south of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The castle is within the Brecon Beacons National Park, and its location has been described as spectacular, due to its position above a limestone precipice. It has been in a ruinous state since 1462 and is now in the care of Cadw, the Welsh Government historic environment service"
Down to Bognor for a BRCC workshop. Half an hour on the beach at low tide for some sand patterns before heading to Felpham.
Our friends in Hampshire bought us an early Christmas present which now takes pride of place on our front doorstep.
A patch of garden that kept growing weeds wil now grow numerous poppies, as well as grasses and forget-me-nots.
This is the first poppy to flower, from a packet given to me by my sister as a thankyou for driving when we went to Amiens last October with other family members.
Junk for Macro Mondays.
I had a rummage in my junk drawer (a concept my Mum started) and found this. Makes me realise how much junk I have bought as Christmas stocking fillers. All totally useless...
Die is 1" across. Photographed on an obsolete laptop.
Sunshine after a very heavy shower, I missed the rainbow in the other direction, but the raindrops in this tree were sparkling in the afternoon light.
It all seemed a good idea at the time. I was wrapping a birthday present for a friend who we're dining out with later and decided to place a glass over the left over wrapping paper to do an oil in water pic. The result I felt was nauseating and migrainous to look at so I converted it to Black and White. The colour version can be seen in comments-see what you think
A visit to Gigrin Farm Red Kite feeding station Mid Wales today. The last time I visited was a whole nine years ago . I don't know if this is the same leucistic Red Kite that I captured then because as far as I know leucistic birds don't tend to live as long as non - leucistic ones. Not too sure if I've captured it eyes sharply either so a documentary shot.
A long day out today at The National Botanic Gardens of Wales incorporating a visit to the British Birds of Prey Centre there. With over 400 photos taken, I chose this as my POTD because there was very little editing to be done
For Macro Mondays topic of Closed, my mind went straight to a game played on the Sun Khosi riverbank in Nepal in 2013.
The beer bottle was manipulated in all sorts of directions, then the holder would say "Open and Closed?" Really they meant or, but this was just another delight from the wonderful Nepali guides on our 9 day kayaking trip with riverside camps.
We would all guess, usually getting it wrong. I can confirm that this is definitely "Closed".
Have you worked it out yet?
2" high approximately.
Today has been all about the birds and the bees in my garden, but this little blue tit taken through double glazing won the prize of being my Photo a Day
A walk across the Pulborough Brooks to the RSPB for tea and cake.
We were following the new WildArt Trail, finding the "creative signposts", but none of the promised sculptures.
I was trying to portray the movement in the grasses, but of course they come out static. This is three images combined in Photoshop to try and convey the feeling on being there (probably not very successfully.
