Dogweed (Glechoma Hederacea)
The herb "Dogweed" with its tiny blue flowers is traditionally used for colds, flu, coughs, respiratory infections and a remedy to lower fever as the plant is rich in vitamine C.
It is also effective for cystitis and urinary infections.
The herb is then used in dried form from which one makes tea........

Theme: Numbers and Letters
Size: Less than 3x3 inches
I had a non functional pocket calculator that I have dismantled for another MM theme. The subjects are the tiny key pads and a clear plastic circuit board.
There were two light sources. An overhead table lamp and a LED torch at 12 o'clock behind the plastic circuit board.
Many thanks for your visit, comments, invites and faves...it is always appreciated...

I found this little harbour seal on the beach and monitored him. He was dehydrated and weak with no sign of mom. Some other people told me they saw him there for 48 hours so I called Marine Mammal Rescue and they came out to rescue him. Hope this little one recovers soon and gets fat and healthy so he can get released back into the ocean. The marine mammal rescue have updated me his new name is Floyd he has a small infection in his umbilicus, and is dehydrated and weak but hopefully will be on the mend and released back asap!

According to preliminary research a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine on March 17 says, that the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 can survive in the air for several hours in fine particles known as aerosol.
The coronavirus, which causes the respiratory infection COVID-19, can be detected up to 3 hours after aerosolization and can infect cells throughout that time period, the study authors found.
However, the study is still preliminary, because it has not undergone extensive peer-review.
Viruses are not alive but affect all living things!
Have a grand weekend guys.Thank you for comments and faves.

A rust fungus on one of my current bushes, Ribes sanguineum. I had noticed numerous dark pink/red spots on the leaves, but this 20-shot focus-stacked image shows the petiole of a leaf affected, with the infection progressing down into the leaf itself. An unusual pattern is shown by the orange spots - these are the fruiting bodies of the fungus that have erupted to produce spores.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Unusual Patterns'.
No rust fungus was harmed in the making of this photograph.

Scientists have discovered evidence that Northern Gannets can recover from bird flu and that unusual black iris coloration, seen in this bird, is linked to a previous HPAIV infection.
Black irises – instead of the usual pale blue – were first seen in Gannets breeding on the Bass Rock in June 2022 with colour varying from completely black to mottled. This change in eye color, from the usual pale blue, is a sign of the bird's immune response and survival.
Sorry friends, but I suffered from a damned Covid19 infection, although I had a complete series of vaccinations. Now I'm better, but not really well! Will take its time to recover.
Hard to believe that this was only a few months ago...I just checked Spanish webcams and beaches, city streets etc, pretty much deserted.
Perhaps the Chinese authorities will finally grasp the concept that live animal markets, where reptiles and rodents are in unaccustomed proximity, are a breeding ground for the kind of cross-species infection we are now seeing.
Governments around the globe should sue their a$$ for the trillions of losses they’re undergoing...that just may concentrate their minds.
Of course Sethi looks great from every angle but at the moment this is really is best side as on the other side he still has his eye infection. The symptoms of his cold have subsided in the meantime but the eye infection hasn't really responded to the treatment and we had to change to another eye ointment. Tomorrow he'll see the vet again ...
From 7 January, evening dining banned in restaurants, while bars and other leisure venues ordered to close, under tough package of Covid-19 measures fighting fifth wave of infections. (20220105 SCMP)

Late Night Storm Chasing... not really, this was just a few blocks from my home. Though a week after my injury, it was effecting my health. Severe back and neck pain due to the infection spreading... I still challenged myself to get out. It was painful but as you see, I was more than successful. It was definitely worth my time to get out that late night. I needed to do so, my spirit need to be recharged.
Beautiful crystal blue lightning illuminated the night as the arcus (shelf cloud) approached from the due west. Got to my location and set up and went to town... Oh was this worth it!!!

Our incredible canine companion gifted to us by his previous owner seen here keeping a close eye on me while taking photos.
We are fortunate to have been given this thoughtful creature who had saved John (his previous owner).
This dog was John's PTSD dog and watched over John so that he could now feel safe and relax after his traumatic military service having lost three friends during one Christmas period from his military unit.
John was understandably after this experience struggling with the loss of his Australian brothers in arms.
John's commanding officer wisely advised John after this experience to get a dog as a companion as he feared he may end up dead.
So a few months after this advice John went to a dog rescue center and was not sure what sort of dog he needed when a little nine month old Boofy came over to John with his then tortured soul.
Boofy looked into John's eyes, wrapped his little front puppy legs around his arm and would not let go and John realized he had found the right dog and canine soul brother and left with young Boofy after paying some veterinary fees and doing the new ownership paperwork.
9 years later John collapsed from an infection in his house. Boofy refused to let John go to sleep as he sensed he would possibly not wake up again.
Boofy ended up jumping on John as he lay on the floor to stop him falling asleep and finally John realized in his daze that he had to phone for an ambulance for help and he then passed out.
The ambulance guys had to break into John's house and Boofy led these guys to John.
Subsequently when John woke up in hospital
he was very aware that he had been asked in effect to phone for help before being allowed to pass out as the Doctors had told John he was definitely about to die from sepsis.
This dog is an Australian cattle dog X German boxer cross.
You may notice the Bentley star on his forehead.
My son and nephew are proud to call this wonderful creature their wolf brother.
Boofy can now relax with our family where he just wanders around the garden at will and bothers the birds and lizards, just doing doggy things in his later years now and enjoys our family outings.
John, his previous owner phones up regularly to ask how Boofy is going and we send John photos.
He is very happy that Boofy can just be a dog and relax and not feel obligated to care for John now and that in itself is a sign of incredible strength and compassion on John's behalf.

P. lanceolata is used frequently in herbal teas and other herbal remedies. A tea from the leaves is used as a highly effective cough medicine. In the traditional Austrian medicine Plantago lanceolata leaves have been used internally (as syrup or tea) or externally (fresh leaves) for treatment of disorders of the respiratory tract, skin, insect bites, and infections.

Cortivermis Syndrome is a degenerative infection caused by the symbiotic parasite Cortivermis sanguinea, a filamentous organism that infiltrates neural and dermal tissues. Its name comes from Latin: cortex (brain) and vermis (worm). The pathogen’s life cycle centers around the cerebral cortex, where it intertwines with neural pathways, feeding on bioelectrical activity. Initial infection typically occurs through contact with contaminated organic material or aerosolized spores. Once inside the host, microscopic larvae migrate through the bloodstream and lodge in the capillary networks of the face and brain. Within 72 hours, the organism begins constructing a porous, coral-like bio-matrix across soft tissues — a structure that provides oxygen diffusion and electrical conductivity. This growth manifests externally as reddish lattice lesions, usually on one side of the face. By day 10, the infection reaches the frontal and temporal lobes. The parasite establishes a neural interface, effectively hijacking sensory inputs and emotional regulation. Victims report auditory distortions, metallic taste sensations, and heightened aggression. Advanced stages result in partial ossification of the parasite’s network — the “cortical shell” — where nerve signals are rerouted through foreign tissue, giving the illusion of dual consciousness. First recorded in 2143 CE after an outbreak in the Novaya Murmansk Research Zone, where a mycelial biofuel experiment went rogue. Over 300 researchers were quarantined; only 17 survived.

Buzzy has an eye infection! He gets them constantly, doesn't mean I don't get that feeling in the pit of my stomach all the time! I have the meds. He will be better in no time.
I've been in infected.
Not by a plague or disease.
I'm a little worried.
But I don't think it's a problem.
It's starting to hurt though...
