Over a period of 7 years, the Little White Car has now travelled through 20 of my Rajasthani paintings... you'll usually find them tucked in a corner, on top of a tree, peeking out from a garage, or up in the clouds...but somewhere, in every painting, is a little white car...
This old Tata Pickup is intact and still runs. Needles to say, there's no great 'run' on parts for them in Ireland.
Indian built Maruti Omni mini-vans in use in Kenya. They provide an extensive public share taxi service near Narok, Mai Mahio and Naivasha. (Oct/Nov 2010)
A decreipt Tempo Trax car in Kudche (pron: Kood-chhay) Village near Pune (Poona) in Western India. This car is basically a knock off version of a Mercedes of identical appearance, and is made in Pune (Poona) by Bajaj Tempo Ltd. (now Force Motors). Like all other products made by Tempo, the Tempo Trax is also poorly engineered, crudely finished, noisy and rickety. However the low cost of purchase and the rugged frame make Tempo vehicles quite popular among the rural folk. (Pune/ Poona, July 2007)

The local chip shop was only doing take aways (restaurant not open at 7pm), so we headed to the local Wetherpoon's instead!
