My lamp is in my fruit bowl. I think it's hilarious. It turns out I also find parking with 1.5 tires up over the curb incredibly freaking hilarious. Eventually I succumbed to convention and parked my car properly. So I'll probably get around to getting help with the lamp some day. :)

Testo Ultra has sort of a haunting beauty. That goes both directions.

I must get cold feet on looking as if I'm skeptical. It will be originally spotted on a nameless Testo Ultra Review blog. Unfortunately that is the risky part of this turnover.

I highly suggest doing this.

This decoy was an eye pleaser. I sensed I was making it more interesting than listening to me talk in the matter of this matter at hand, apparently I was correct.

It is Testo Ultra Review-crazy. This is except for our Testo Ultra Review. It is the way it needs to be. Permit me to only put across that to you. I understood there was a reason as to why I hadn't gotten doing this. I bet you're on the edge of your chair. You can begin without any Testo Ultra.

Diversification of household income sources though small livestock activities

An important part of the ‘Making a Living from Livestock’ project involves strengthening of livestock commodity associations such as LCDs and ISALS. Bambelelani Goat group has been a beneficiary of the project in this aspect. Established in 2014, the 17-member goat group has grown from humble beginnings to operating a successful enterprise through their lending and savings. Through the project they have been assisted with trainings in goat husbandry, veterinary services for their goats, as well as financial management skills that have proved crucial in helping them to sustain their successful business for the past 3 years.

Another year in the bag. I think its 365, it kind of got muddled around March and the 200s b/c COVID helped me increase my movie consumption by 3s and 4s.

Its been an interesting and bittersweet year for sure. No Summer Cinema Series, no real going to the theater anymore and worrying they are gonna be closed forever as this COVID shit wears on (which it shouldve been handled properly from the beginning but thats something I dont want to get into right now). I did see a LOT of movies that I hadnt seen before or had heard of or have seen but its been years. Also, how about a hand to TCM for pulling out some amazing movies over this pandemic. I mean, for real. Interestingly, I had bought a couple of them over the last few months and had been angling to watch them but different things came up. Oh and I became a Doctor of Organizational Leadership in May. How about that.

Its been a fun year watching these films. Again, I apologize for not putting my thoughts in but some days I would get bogged down and then feel crappy, its just something I have been dealing with since the pandemic began and before I finished school.

See ya tomorrow with another installment of Movies 365: The Final Chapter!

As for the movie, I was thinking about what movie to end this year off with and this Noodle Western came to mind this morning as I found a centipede in my hand...its a lovely love story about FOOD and it always makes me hungry when I watch it. I saw it the first time on the big screen a few years back and have loved it ever since.

The increasing vulnerability of the L-19/O-1 Birddog in the U.S. Army and Marine Corps led the two services to jointly explore a replacement. For added reliability and durability, the new design would use two engines; for additional speed, it would use turboprops, and it had to have excellent visibility from the cockpit. Since the Marines wanted an aircraft that could be armed with rockets and gun pods for self-defense and counterinsurgency, that requirement was also added.

The U.S. Navy chimed in with a requirement that it be able to operate from light amphibious assault ships, which fit in well with another Army requirement that the design be able to fly from unimproved airstrips. Despite all of the demands, Grumman was able to satisfy all of them with the G-134. The Marines pulled out of the project due to lack of funding, but the Army pressed forward, naming the G-134 the YOV-1 Mohawk. It made its first flight in April of 1959. It was redesignated OV-1 in 1962.

The USAF was against the project from the beginning, as fixed-wing armed Army aircraft infringed on the USAF's role. The Army was unsure if it wanted the Mohawk either, as it was expensive, and it was thought that a helicopter could do the same job. When the OV-1s were deployed to Vietnam, however, the Army's opinions changed: the Mohawk was robust, easy to fly, provided superb observation ability, and when equipped with side-looking radar (SLAR), it gave the U.S. Army excellent reconnaissance that was better than most USAF types at the time. Much to the USAF's chagrin, the Army ordered more Mohawks. The USAF was able to secure an agreement that the OV-1 not be armed, but in practice over Vietnam, the Mohawks still carried rockets for "self-defense."

Following Vietnam, the OV-1 was continually updated, and its systems were not only useful in the battlefield surveillance role but also in tracking drug runners, looking for missing persons, and checking for wildfire hotspots. A few would be deployed for the First Gulf War, but it was the Mohawk's swan song: the OV-1 was withdrawn from service beginning in 1991 in favor of the E-8A JSTARS. A number were also supplied to Israel in the 1980s and Argentina, which retired their Mohawks in 2013. A total of 380 aircraft were built, and at least 20 are still around today.

Built as BuNo 61-2724, this OV-1C was initially delivered to the 80th Transportation Company at Fort Richardson, Alaska, in 1962. It was not there long before being moved to the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment, defending the vital Fulda Gap in West Germany. In 1966, 61-2724 was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division's air assets in Vietnam and participated in Operation Cedar Falls and Junction City in 1967 and the Tet Offensive in 1968. After the 1st Infantry Division returned home in 1970, 61-7724 remained in theater at Vung Tau until 1971.

Following its return home, 61-7724 was loaned to NASA to become an experimental testbed, and it was finally retired from a very active career in 1979. It was donated to the Pima Air and Space Museum later that year. 61-7724 is displayed as it would’ve appeared with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam, in olive drab; the shark mouth was not unusual on U.S. Army Mohawks, and it carries the name "Dirty Dawg" under the cockpit. The pilot graduated from the University of Texas, as the school's longhorn emblem is on both drop tanks! Unseen from this angle, the aircraft also has a 1st ID "Big Red One" patch on the center tail.

The importance of electrically powered vehicles is growing: climate protection, dwindling fossil fuels and an increased demand for mobility due to rising population figures require new solutions and alternative drive systems.

Electric vehicles can make a significant contribution to protecting the environment and reducing emissions. That is why electric vehicles are an integral part of the technology-open drive strategies of German manufacturers and suppliers. The leap in battery technology has made electromobility an option for future mobility.

Developers have focused on exploiting the existing advantages of electric motors over internal combustion engines. This is, for example, the high efficiency of an electric motor.

The lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles are being continuously improved. Car manufacturers are developing more powerful lithium-ion batteries that have a longer range and can be recharged more quickly. Along with these improvements, improving safety is becoming more urgent in the development of electric vehicles.

Lithium-ion batteries generate a significant amount of heat during operation and charging. In addition to using thermal management materials to dissipate the heat, placing protective, flame-retardant insulating materials between the battery cell, module and battery components can provide further thermal and electrical insulation protection.

Materials must be used in the following areas:

Insulation gaskets on positive connectors

Cell insulation

Insulation of serial connectors

BMU insulation

Edge protection

Battery sheathing

Battery insulation

Case insulation

The following 6 materials are used for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators:

Polypropylene film

Polyester film

Flame retardant 3M FRB

Nomex aramid paper

Polyimide film

Mica

1. polypropylene film for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Polypropylene has excellent dielectric properties, excellent impermeability and is easily formable. Formex is the first choice for engineers and designers. It is very durable and has excellent dielectric strength. It is also flame retardant (UL94 V-0) and meets stringent safety and environmental requirements. Formex can be die-cut, scored and folded to create a customized dynamic 3D shape.

2. polyester films for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Polyester films (also known by the trade names Mylar and Hostaphan) are also used in many applications where electrical insulation, thermal resistance and dimensional stability are required. PET films are useful as a dielectric insulator over a relative temperature range. Another product may be more suitable for higher temperatures depending on the application within the battery.

3. Flame Barrier FRB inorganic insulation papers for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

3M Flame Barrier FRB inorganic insulation papers are based on inorganic material technology, specifically designed for use as flame barriers in electrical equipment. 3M FRB insulation papers provide excellent resistance to flammability and ignitability, excellent arc, creepage path and dielectric breakdown resistance, and good thermal conductivity to protect electrical hazards.

4. Nomex aramid papers for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Nomex aramid papers have long been used in electrical applications. Nomex, which is based on meta-aramid fibers. This material is indispensable for manufacturers of motors, transformers or generators. In addition to its dielectric performance, it is characterized by very high thermal resistance (220°C according to UL 746) and mechanical strength. Properties that are also important in the manufacture of accumulators and batteries.

5. polyimide films for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Polyimide films are widely used in applications exposed to extreme heat and vibration. Polyimide films are flame retardant (UL94 V-0) and maintain their electrical, chemical and mechanical properties even under extremely harsh conditions.

6. mica for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Mica is a mineral material found in the composition of some insulating films. Because it is very crumbly, mica “flakes” can be added to a binder. This mixture is then applied to a substrate to produce what we call flexible mica. It can also be added directly during the manufacture of a film, as is the case with Nomex Type 818. Mica increases dielectric performance and provides thermal barrier properties. This makes it particularly suitable for insulation between cells.

All materials can be supplied as die-cut and with a self-adhesive layer.

April 14, 2016. Boston, MA.

Workers rallied and marched through the streets of Boston to demand that minimum wage be increased to $15. Two bills pending on Beacon Hill would raise wages to $15 an hour for about 1,500 service employees at Logan Airport and over 200,000 workers at fast food and "big box" retail chain outlets across the state. Low-wage employees including airport workers, adjunct professors and home care workers turned out to show their solidarity with fast-food workers. The "Fight for $15" campaign is being backed by the Service Employees International Union and began in late 2012, with striking fast-food workers in New York City. Since then, the growing demonstrations have helped make hourly pay a major political issue. Organizers said strikes and protests were planned for cities including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami.

As the speed increases, people are concerned about the profiling of cars: the fashion for aerodynamics is becoming more enveloping...

The 1930s were a time of power and speed. Airplanes linked continents, motorists compared their averages... The shape of cars had to show it to please, and so the fashion for aerodynamics took hold. For Renault, it was the 1934 Motor Show that marked this breakthrough, and the Viva and Nerva ranges, six and eight-cylinder respectively, took advantage of it. The new Vivasport, shorter and more powerful, was complemented by a Vivastella saloon that was resolutely shaped by the wind. The two trends lead one year later to the Viva Grand Sport, a well-balanced car with wrap-around lines without excessive heaviness, available in various open or closed body styles. In its cabriolet version, it exudes the "new joie de vivre with a Renault Grand Sport", as the advertisement sings.

While the eight-cylinder Nerva models declined during the crisis of the 1930s, the powerful, comfortable and easy-to-drive Viva Grand Sport is now at the top of the Renault range. The Viva Grand Sport, which became slightly overweight, remained at the top of the Renault range until 1939.

Ecovolis program has proven successful in dramatically increasing bicycle use in Tirana, which, formerly, was a city without a developed bicycle culture. Ecovolis program is the first project in Albania that provides low-income adults with commuter bicycles as well as a donating program for children bicycles. The program recently completed two major steps, opening new bike stations in the city of Durrës and integrating Tourist Information Point Service to the bicycles stations' structure.

History

The Tirana Community Bicycle Albania project won financial support from the George Soros Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA). An even larger contribution came from the US-based Pedal for Progress organization, which donated 450 bicycles. Sixty of these were used road bikes, which were modified and painted by local technicians to serve as public bikes in the Ecovolis scheme. Another portion was set aside to donate to children and to activists and volunteers at PASS. Still another portion were diverted to the project's Eco Bicycle Shop, a social enterprise which sells bikes for USD 50-150 and reinvests profits for the service and maintenance of Ecovolis bicycles. The main objective of the program was to introduce the community to an inexpensive, environmental friendly form of transport -- the bicycle; to sell used bikes at low prices; to donate bikes to the children of needy families and to PASS volunteers; to establish a bike sharing-scheme in the city (Ecovolis); and to employ financially disadvantaged people and young students to operate the bike-sharing scheme.

April is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month in Suffolk County, and through the advocacy of Frank Rivera this recognition is being observed by a growing number of municipalities across the State. Frank founded Sarcoidosis of Long Island, a not-for-profit organization committed to increasing awareness of this rare disease that leads to debilitating, and potentially deadly inflammation, particularly within internal organs. In honor for the work he has done to spread awareness and understanding of Sarcoidosis, Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn and her colleagues recognized Frank during its April meeting.

In order to increase the versatility of its carrier air wings, the Navy sought to develop an all-weather attack capability that would enable strikes against targets under most any conditions, an effort that picked up momentum in the years following the Korean War with the development of advanced radar, bombing, and navigation equipment. The Navy received 11 design proposals in response to a 1956 call for a strike aircraft capable of striking a target in any weather at long range and low altitude, the winner a proposal for a mid-wing subsonic jet by Grumman Aerospace Corporation.

Designated the A2F (later A-6) Intruder the aircraft entered fleet service in 1963. The world’s first all-weather attack aircraft, the Intruder carried a crew of two in side-by-side seating and featured Digital Integrated Attack Navigation Equipment (DIANE), which provided an electronic display of targets and geographical features even in low visibility conditions. Introduced on the A-6E version of the aircraft, the Target Recognition Attack Multisensors (TRAM) system combined Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR)/laser sensors with an onboard computer. Located in a ball turret beneath the nose of the aircraft, TRAM enabled a higher degree of bombing accuracy by locating targets and ascertaining their ranges and allowed the A-6 crew to detect ground undulations as small as a plowed field.

Despite initial difficulties in Vietnam, including premature detonation of bombs, the A-6 proved itself in the murky weather conditions over Southeast Asia, oftentimes carrying out single-plane or two-plane nocturnal raids with devastating accuracy that produced disproportionate results. This was dramatically illustrated when two A-6s of Attack Squadron (VA) 85 made a night strike dropping 26 500 lb. bombs against a North Vietnamese power plant. The damage was such that the enemy high command was convinced that B-52 heavy bombers had been at work! Another notable mission occurred on October 30, 1967, when the crew of Lieutenant Commander Charles Hunter and Lieutenant Lyle Bull executed a daring single-plane raid against the Red River ferry docks in Hanoi, flying at altitudes as low as 50 ft. and evading 10 surface-to-air missiles. Both officers received the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism on the mission.

The aircraft also represented the aircraft carrier’s “big stick” in combat strikes over Lebanon, Libya, and Iraq. During Operation Desert Storm, Navy and Marine Corps A-6s logged more than 4,700 combat sorties, providing close air support, destroying enemy air defenses, attacking Iraqi naval units, and hitting strategic targets. All told, 687 A-6s were delivered to the Navy, including the KA-6D that provided aerial refueling and the EA-6A electronic countermeasures version that provided the foundation for development of the EA-6B Prowler. Despite efforts to prolong the aircraft’s service with advanced versions and the rewinging of older Intruders, the last A-6 retired from front-line service in 1997.

The aircraft on display (Bureau Number 155610) is painted in the markings of VA-196, the squadron in which it spent ten years of operational service, including deployments in Enterprise (CVN 65), the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The aircraft also served in VA-128, VA-95, and VA-145 during its operational career. It arrived at the museum in 1994.

While ACs can cool down the indoor temperature, they can increase outdoor temperatures by 2.4 degrees Celsius. This is a challenge at a time when the world is experiencing record-breaking temperatures.

That's why many experts believe that trees are important in urban spaces. Trees can reduce the need for ACs when they are near houses and apartments.

Trees also reduce the amount of solar radiation absorbed by asphalt and concrete. This means that the pavement stores less heat, ultimately bringing down the air temperature by as much as 1 degree Celsius. And the impact of one tree can be felt up to a few hundred meters around it.

The problem is, more than 75% of people in U.S. cities live in neighbourhoods with less than 20% tree cover.
