I'll be out for another two or three days, my friends! Take care!

Clear incandescent light bulb.

Illumination: light field, source: tablet displaying a white image.

This is one of the lighting fixtures that I use for photography. For the Smile on Saturday "Odd One Out" theme, I replaced the fifth white spiral fluorescent bulb in the center of the fixture with a blue incandescent bulb. The blue bulb, of course, then becomes the "odd one out."

When you stand in front of this great architectural monument, which was built in time that may seem impossible for many people.. You must be sure that Eiffel and his workers proved that there is no impossible in front of the will.. I hope that I have documented the greatness of this tower through this image.

This very fiery looking beauty was up by the canal criss-crossing Kaiser and caught the Sun just at the right angle to allow me an attempt to a rule of thirds. The beauty of which exists for such a short time so luck was in my side to get at such bloom. Weather n Germany is incredibly changeable at the mo and I really wanting to get back out again soon.

I hope everyone is well and so as always thank you! :)

Incandescent light bulbs such as this one are gradually disappearing as they are replaced by LED bulbs and other more energy efficient alternatives.

Took this about a month ago on a particularly nice day and whilst still playing around with the WB, setting to "incandescent" the natural light against the blue sky gave this wonderfully almost fantastic brightness and blueness. I admit the shot itself could've been a bit sharper but the softening I think adds to the ethereal nature what I wanted to achieve.

I hope everyone is well and having a great week, so as always thank you! :)

Another very windy day in the UK, keeping the small birds in the nests or sheltering as much as they can. The Starlings will always venture out and the bird feeders are the first port of call.

Well Friday I jotted down Broken Glass for the Flickr Friday theme. I got this frame worked up and then found out that somewhere in the week since the annoucement that the theme was changed to Celebration, I started to go with incandescent to LED celebration on changing out but just decided that I would post it as it is a busted bulb.

Established in 1889 and at a height of 31 metres, Southwold Lighthouse stands in the middle of the historic resort of Southwold, in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast. The lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour.

The lighthouse is situated near the centre of the seaside resort of Southwold; midway between Lowestoft and Orford the round white tower stands among rows of small houses.

Construction of Southwold Lighthouse began in 1887 under the supervision of Sir James Douglass, Engineer in Chief to Trinity House. The lighthouse replaced three local lighthouses which were under threat from severe coastal erosion at Orfordness to the south. While the masonry tower was built a temporary light was shown from a wooden structure which was first lit on 19 February 1889.

The present lighthouse came into operation on 3 September 1890. The light was originally provided by an Argand burner, this was replaced by a Matthews incandescent oil burner in 1906. A Hood 100mm petroleum vapour burner was installed in 1923 and remained until the station was electrified and demanned in 1938. The character and range of Southwold lighthouse were changed in December 2012 with the main light being increased from 17 to 24 Nautical Miles in advance of the decommissioning of Orfordness Lighthouse

From Wikipedia:

''Since incandescent light bulbs use more energy than alternatives such as CFLs and LED lamps, many governments have introduced measures to ban their use, by setting minimum efficacy standards higher than can be achieved by incandescent lamps.

In the US, federal law has scheduled the most common incandescent light bulbs to be phased out by 2014, to be replaced with more energy-efficient light bulbs. Traditional incandescent light bulbs were phased out in Australia in November 2009.''
