Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert inaugurated at the Utah State Capitol building in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jan. 7, 2013.
Herbert began his first full term in office with his inauguration ceremony featuring a 19-gun salute and flyover by the Utah National Guard, performances by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, One Voice Children’s Choir and the Utah National Guard 23rd Army Band.
Herbert began his remarks by thanking the dedicated Soldiers, the men and women of our Utah Army and Air National Guard for their service, not only on this day, but for the service and sacrifice they offer for us every single day.
He said, “People who care more about others than they do about themselves—they make this state great.”
He pledged to serve this state and its people to the best of his ability.
