I watched the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States by webstreamed link from the BBC website. The images froze - but the sound did not. So this is what I saw at the exact moment.

I decided to spend the inauguration at the Lincoln Memorial figuring that the crowd would be small and easy to handle. I also liked the symbolism of standing at foot of the Great Emancipator and looking down the Mall to where the promise of his act so long ago would finally come to fruition. Once there I started taking pictures of the people in the crowd, looking for the ones I would concentrate on during the swearing in and the speech -- still two hours away.

With President Obama's second inauguration a little over a month away, military personnel have begun preparations for the big day.
On Wednesday, the Joint Task Forces for the District of Columbia and the Capital Region held a symposium highlighting their preparations. Seen here is a 40x6 foot map of the city used for rehearsal purposes.
On Monday, January 6th, 2020, the City of Malden's official Inauguration took place at the Jenkins Auditorium.
