Approximately 200 members of the Maryland Military Department, consisting of members of the Maryland Army and Air National Guard as well as the Maryland Emergency Management Agency and the Maryland Defense Force, participated in Governor Martin O’Malley’s second inauguration at the State House in Annapolis, Md. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011. The Department’s roles included manning a joint operations center and escorting key personnel to the pre-inaugural ceremony, the Senate chamber ceremony and the ceremony on the West Portico. The 229th Army Band provided music, and the 104th Fighter Squadron of the Maryland Air National Guard performed a flyover with four A-10C Thunderbolts.

Le 25 avril, Luc Reichert et Eric Moussier, respectivement directeur régional et directeur de l'antenne Miramas de Carrefour Market, ont inauguré le magasin en travaux depuis novembre 2015. Tout est fait pour le confort de la clientèle : mobilier plus bas, permettant une meilleure visibilité des produits, des allées plus larges, des caddies plus légers... Une superficie agrandie de 800m² qui permet désormais de proposer une offre de produits plus développée comme un rayon de produits bio ou sans gluten. Favorable au développement du commerce à Miramas, Frédéric Vigouroux a salué l'idée d'avoir favorisé les circuits courts puisque l'enseigne a développé des partenariats avec une quinzaine de producteurs locaux, orientations en phase avec les enjeux zéro déchet, zéro gaspillage engagés sur la commune.

Former football player, George Manneh Weah, took the oath of office as the 24th President of the Republic of Liberia at the main stadium outside Monrovia. The oath was administered by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Francis Korkpor , marking the first peaceful transfer of power in 73 years from one elected President to another.
Weah of the main opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) won the presidential runoff election in December 26, against outgoing Vice President Joseph Boakai of the former ruling Unity Party (UP).
