I asked her if she could pose for me while I adjusted the lights on my strobes and she was a natural! ;)

580EX in the back on a tripod CTO gelled at 1/4 power. The slight blue on her left cheek is from a large window on the left letting in some natural light. The right and front sides of her face are lit with some of the flash's light reflected in the large soft box placed in front of her and to the left of camera. The flash in it was turned off, so the light is mainly coming in from the flash in the back.

Lethe, the river of forgetfulness, was one of the five rivers of the Greek underworld. The other four being Styx (the river of hate), Akheron (the river of sorrow), Kokytos (the river of lamentation) and Phlegethon (the river of fire). According to Statius, it bordered Elysium, the final resting place of the virtuous. Ovid wrote that the river flowed through the cave of Hypnos, god of sleep, where its murmuring would induce drowsiness.

The shades of the dead were required to drink the waters of the Lethe in order to forget their earthly life. In the Aeneid, Virgil writes that it is only when the dead have had their memories erased by the Lethe that they may be reincarnated.

Carolikvarteren (The Caroli/Caroline) in Gamla Staden (Old town), a district of Malmö the capital of Scania, in Øresund, Sweden.

The area was based around medieval building and mostly simple street houses. Later, mainly in the 20th century, the neighbourhood was associated with narrow-mindedness, poverty and poor sanitary conditions. Work started 1960s with most of the area was torn between 1968 and 1972 and the current business and residential area was created.

Malmö's first inhabitants lived a short time at Segebro, where the remains of a 11,000-year-old Stone Age settlement was found. It was a group of hunters who lived in an arctic climate, living a nomad life in their hunt for reindeer, moose, bear, and wolves. At that time Sweden, Denmark and Europe were connected by a land bridge but with time the land was separated by water and fishing became an important industry. Salted herring was the main product of export for hundreds of years.

The Malmö region is a Viking area. Vikings sailed to England, Iceland and all the way to the Middle East from here. The Vikings in this area were merchants as well as warriors. Foteviken, which lies south of Malmö, was one of the biggest battle zones in 1134.

Denmark was christianed during the Danish king Harald Blåtand's rule. Churches were built and during this time, a German teacher, Adam of Bremen, visited Skåne for the first time, described Skåne as the richest, most beautiful region and cultural centre of Denmark.

Malmö was first mentioned in church records from 1270. In the records it's called Malmøi and Malmøghe, while the Icelandic people called the city Malmhaugar. All names are put together by the words malm (gravel or sand) and höghe (ridge).

Up until the 17th Century Malmö was ruled by Denmark. The Swedish king Karl X Gustav was in war with Poland when Denmark declared war against Sweden. Karl X answered the declaration by marching from Poland through Jylland to attack Copenhagen. The winter of 1657-1658 was very cold and the ice over the Belts had frozen. By marching over the ice, which rarely froze over, the Danish army was taken by surprise. The Danish Army were forced to surrender and in February 1658, the Peace in Roskilde was signed which included Malmo passing over to Sweden.

Uddevalla is a city and the seat of Uddevalla Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 31,212 inhabitants in 2010.

It is located at the bay of the south-eastern part of the sea known as Skagerrak. The beaches of Uddevalla are filled with seashells, and Uddevalla has one of the largest shellbanks in the world.

Uddevalla has a small port and once hosted a large shipyard called Uddevallavarvet, which in 1960 was the largest employer in Bohuslän. But in the 1970s all shipyards in Sweden experienced a recession which also led to the closure of Uddevallavarvet in 1985.
