Gerum Church (Swedish: Gerum kyrka) is a medieval Lutheran church in Gerum on the Swedish island of Gotland, in the Diocese of Visby.
The oldest parts of Gerum Church are the choir and apse, dating from circa 1200 and Romanesque in style. The presently visible, Gothic nave dates from a later time of the 13th century and probably replaced an earlier, Romanesque nave. The tower, which was never finished, was built circa 1300. The only non-medieval part of the church is the sacristy, built in 1835.
Gerum Church is constructed of limestone. The exterior is whitewashed apart from several finely carved stone details. The façade is broken by four windows on the southern side while the northern completely lacks windows. The church has three portals, one Romanesque in the choir and two Gothic in the nave and tower, respectively. The Gothic portals are decorated with stone sculptures. Inside, the church carries frescos from at least three different periods: the 13th century, the 15th century (by the Master of the Passion of Christ) and the 18th century. The church also has a decorated stained glass window from the 14th century.

Gerums kyrka är en kyrkobyggnad i Visby stift. Den är församlingskyrka i Gerums församling.
Gerums kyrka fick inte det höga torn som med största sannolikhet var tänkt när den romanska sockenhelgedomen byggdes om. Tornbygget verkar av någon anledning ha avstannat. Istället uppfördes så småningom en åttakantig tornkonstruktion av trä med ljudöppningar för kyrkklockan krönt av en spira. Kyrkan fick på så sätt en exteriör som påminner mycket om Hellvi kyrka på norra Gotland. Inte heller blev det något nytt bygge av ett stort kor som annars skedde i flera församlingar. Koret och den halvrunda absiden från den romanska 1100-talskyrkan fick stå kvar. Däremot färdigställdes vid slutet 1200-talet långhuset, som präglas av sengotikens spetsbågestil som visar sig i utformningen av sydportalen, det södra fönstret, triumfbågen samt valven som bärs upp av en kraftig pelare. Sakristian tillkom 1835. Kyrkorummet är rik på kalkmålningar. De äldsta är ornamentmålningar från 1200-talet som man finner i västra triumfbågen och långhusets östra vägg. Under 1400-talet försåg Passionsmästaren kyrkan med bilder ur Kristi levnads historia. Absiden är till det inre fylld med akantusrankor. Dessa målningar har tillkommit så sent som 1771. I korets i södra fönster strålar en välbevarad glasmålning från 1300-talet som föreställer Sankt Olof.
Dopfunt av sandsten från 1100-talets senare del utförd av anonymmästaren Magister Majestatis uttytt (Mästare till Herrens majestät). I likhet med dennes dopfuntar i exempelvis Stenkyrka kyrka och Väskinde kyrka är den rik på uthuggna reliefer ur Jesu liv.

Sundre Church (Swedish: Sundre kyrka) is a medieval Lutheran church on the Swedish island of Gotland, in the Diocese of Visby.
The church was originally built as the church for a large farmstead. This first church was wooden, and built during the early 12th century. A few painted remains of the church have been preserved at the Gotland Museum in Visby. They were painted by a Russian artist and the scene depicts the Last Judgement. It has been speculated whether the remains were originally parts of an iconostasis, given the Russian origin of the work, but more probably they are the remains of a ceiling.
The first church was torn down during the early 13th century and replaced by the presently visible stone church in Romanesque style. Before that, however, a defensive tower had been built near the church, the ruins of which are still standing. It probably served as a haven for the congregation in times of danger or war. The tower of the church was added in the middle of the 13th century.
No major alterations have been made to the church since the Middle Ages, except for the addition of the vestry. Restorations were carried out in 1931 and 1969-1970
During a large part of its history, the church functioned as a navigational aid for sea-farers, as it is located on a height not far from the sea. It appears as such in a Dutch navigation book in 1627.
The church is built of local sandstone, except the entrance portals which are executed in more durable limestone. It is a relatively homogeneous Romanesque church. The interior of the church is decorated with a suite of medieval frescos depicting the Passion of Christ. A few medieval wooden sculptures have also been preserved, including a triumphal cross from the 15th century. The perhaps most unusual piece from the church is an organ dating from 1370 and today also on display in the Museum of Gotland in Visby. According to an inscription in Latin, it was made by a master named Verner from Brandenburg. It depicts the coats of arms of what has been interpreted as the ten farms of the parish.
To the northeast of the church there is a round defense tower (a so-called castal) from the early Middle Ages preserved. It is 15 meters in diameter and 13 meters high and is made up of chopped sandstone. In the northeast, about 6 meters above ground level, is a round-arched portal, probably the original entrance. On the upper part of the castal are 6-7 shotguns preserved. Southwest of the church are also the ruins of a medieval vicarage.

Sundre kyrka är en kyrkobyggnad på Gotland som tillhör Hoburgs församling i Visby stift. Den medeltida stenkyrkan ligger i Sundre i Sundre socken som är Gotlands sydligaste socken och en av de minsta.
Nuvarande kyrka hade troligen en föregångare som var en träkyrka från senare delen av 1100-talet. Långhuset och koret till nuvarande kyrka uppfördes under 1200-talets förra hälft. Tornet byggdes något senare, förmodligen omkring 1200-talets mitt. Sakristian tillkom mycket senare, år 1870. Kyrkan restaurerades 1931 efter förslag av arkitekt Knut Nordenskjöld. Vid en restaurering 1969 - 1870 utförd av Restaureringsteknik AB framtogs långhusets passionsfris, ornamentala 1200-talsmålningar i koret samt en 1600-talsmålning i triumfbågen.
Kyrkan är uppförd i romansk stil och består av ett rektangulärt långhus, med ett smalare rakt avslutat kor i öster och ett kyrktorn i väster. Vid korets norra sida är en sakristia tillbyggd. Byggnadsmaterialet är i huvudsak sandsten.
Kyrkan har vitputsade fasader med hörnkedjor och omfattningar av kalksten. Långhus och kor täcks av brädklädda, branta sadeltak. Tornet har kolonnettförsedda ljudgluggar i två våningar, sidogavlar och en kort åttkantig spira. Kyrkan har tre ingångar (på tornets nordsida, samt korets respektive långhusets sydsida); långhusportalen fungerar som huvudingång och i dess inre smyg finns ett vigvattenskärl bevarat. Långhusets sydfönster är förstorat i senare tid, medan korets två fönster (i söder och öster) har mer ursprunglig karaktär. De två cirkelrunda stenarna av röd kalksten, som är inmurade till höger om långhusportalen, var troligen ämnade till en kolonn.
Långhuset täcks invändigt av två kryssvalv, medeltida sidoaltaren finns bevarade i nordöstra respektive sydöstra hörnet. Längs södra långhusväggen löper en passionsfris från 1400-talet. En spetsbågig muröppning leder till det kryssvälvda koret, som är försett med fyra nischer varav den nordöstra har medeltida omfattning med järnbeslagna trädörrar. Tornrummet, som har ett kryssvalv, avskiljs från långhuset genom en brädvägg. Sakristian är tunnvälvd. Långhusfönstrets glasmålning är komponerad av professor Einar Forseth och insatt 1969. Altarprydnaden är en rekonstruktion av ett 1300-tals retabel.
Nordost om kyrkan finns ett runt försvarstorn (en så kallad kastal) från tidig medeltid bevarat. Den är 15 meter i diameter och 13 meter hög och är uppbyggd av huggna sandstenar. I nordost, cirka 6 meter ovan marknivå, är en rundbågig portal, troligen den ursprungliga ingången. På kastalens övre del är 6-7 skottgluggar bevarade. Sydväst om kyrkan finns också ruinerna av en medeltida prästgård.

Gedenkprojekt der WU = WU Commemorative Project
Austria's incorporation into Nazi Germany in 1938 had fatal consequences for the University of World Trade (Hochschule für Welthandel, HWH), the institution that would later become today's WU. During Nazi rule, many WU students, faculty, and staff members, particularly Jews, suffered systematic persecution and expulsion. The goal of the Commemorative Project is to help WU come to terms with this chapter in its history on the basis of thorough historical research and to keep the memory of the victims and the wrongs they suffered alive with a memorial on Campus WU.
The Memorial: the memorial is a sphere placed on a small, grass-covered mound. Its surface is formed by the names of the people to whom it is dedicated and by the empty spaces and connecting elements in between. With its irregular appearance, the sphere has a flowing, organic aesthetic quality to it that points to the human lives behind the names. The names converge to form an organic unit, joined together by a shared fate. The arrangement of the names creates the impression of a great multitude, representing the vast number of people with similar stories of suffering and injustice. The opening on one side is symbolic of the gaping wound left behind by the Nazi regime - the memorial remains incomplete, a reminder that we will probably never be able to bring full closure to this chapter of our history. In this way, an incomplete present evokes the great injustice done in the past, which remains visible as a symbolic scar. (Alexander Felch)
