Sometimes dreams do come true. I am so grateful to have been able to view the castle of my dreams, Eilean Donan in Scotland. What an iconic castle it is, a fable from days of yore. So now in these days of "good will and peace to all men", my thoughts turn to our troubled world. I am still dreaming that peace will come to us all.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.

In this picture the fog was higher than in the first picture. This created a very different mood as the sun shone through the fog
Rudern zwei,

october evening, I guess autumn will not stay much longer... (there were some few snowflakes in the air, that are not seen in the photo)/Uppland, oktober, backen med Altuna kyrkan lyser i kvällssolen, det känns som om hösten har tankar på att dra vidare...(jag såg några snöflingor i luften)/En Uppland, una tarde de octubre, me parece que el otoño anda con ganas de partir...(había unos copos de nieve en el aire, pero no se los ve en la foto).

Small Tortoiseshell [Aglais urticae] on Buddleia
A lovely afternoon in the garden; lots of these guys, and many red admirals and peacocks on the buddleias.

A more complete view of yesterday's iris gracing their lake shore setting. Typically, only a few plants appear in any single location without any major concentrations, that in itself providing a more unique and appealing accent.

A Roseate Spoonbill passes over-head between me and the setting sun.
This photo was quite accidental - I was facing away from the setting sun, taking photos of birds in flight headed to their roosting areas in the wetlands. I saw this big shadow, turned around and this spoonbill was passing behind me - also headed to the wetlands for the night - but the lone spoonbill - the ibis were in huge numbers, as were the cattle egrets - the wetlands borders the cattle ranches. Other birds in pretty good numbers were great egrets, snowy egrets, blue herons, there were a few Great Herons, some Green Herons and Night Herons. There were also a lot of Anhingas. I saw two hawks and various smaller birds.

The Goudriaan mill along with the church dominates the skyline of the beautiful polder village of Goudriaan in the Alblasserwaard. The original mill dates from 1779 and was thoroughly renovated in 1851. Compared to other mills in the area, it is really large in size.
Visited this mill many times, as it is within cycling distance from Rotterdam (35 km away). However, it is closed most of the time. Only open on National Mill Day and Open Monuments day.
Last week included a butterfly hunting day for me so that meant traveling to different areas where they might be.
I saw only Red Admirals...and got a lot of great shots...This was my 'hands down' favorite because of the colors and detail.
The outer band of orange in all shots (different Admirals) were a subdued orange on the outside of wing, that surprised me....
Hope you're enjoying the week flickr friends....thank you for stopping by...Pat...xo

Oh yes.....the Prairies Photography class from last weekend....wow, I'd say....learning about prairie eco systems, time for greatest color, golden grasses....prairie systems within a half hour drive of where I live....
Learning more about using the camera, having to get down on my knees...groan....for those 'certain shots'...I'm not wild about using a tripod I must say...
Class was 10-1 pm....when we got out in the field, the sun was high....so not great shots; but I'll cull and see what I feel happy enough to show you.
John Pennoyer, great teacher and photographer himself....I will take more classes through Arboretum with him and others.

You sit around gettin' older
There's a joke here somewhere and it's on me
I'll shake this world off my shoulders
Come on, baby, the laugh's on me
You can't start a fire
Sittin' 'round cryin' over a broken heart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancin' in the dark
You can't start a fire
Worryin' about your little world fallin' apart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancin' in the dark
In the front of the photo you see
Tiarella, the foamflowers, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Saxifragaceae. The generic name Tiarella means "little turban", which suggests the shape of the seed capsules. Worldwide there are seven species, one each in eastern Asia and western North America, plus five species in eastern North America. As of October 2022, the taxonomy of Tiarella in eastern North America is in flux. / from Wikipedia

"Seen you from afar
Wondered who you are
Wondered what you're like
Think you're just my type.
And now I'm dreaming of you...
Want you, yes I do
Bet you never knew it
Think you'd suit me fine
Want you all the time.
And now I'm dreaming of you...
You're the one I'm calling on
You're the one who's calling me to have it"

In the shadow of dawn
The running light is like a bonfire
a cool morning sunset
Down there is our home.
Is this silence an opportunity?
Should I lean on you?
Is it just my own thought
Should I sit still or step up?
I wonder if he's stepping up again
On top of the half-open sun
Let's just sit there with our legs folded
Like a warm blanket
If the sun covers us, we'll melt away
I'll be right back when I wake up in the middle of the night
It must be the light that protected our young night
Let's go see it again
Sitting on the sunshine
sunshine is over me she gets over me
make us feel alive
sunshine is over me she gets over me
She will love
all the above
past and present, fast forward
who will define
whatever they say
we stay the same.
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow
From now on we will stay just like this.
This was not the beginning of the sunrise sequence but it just before the mist and the fog began to burn away! This was in the sequence that I posted some time ago called Lake Eerie! This was my favorite moment of the entire morning! Hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead! Taken on Armand bayou in the vicinity of Bay Area Park!
