Eibsee Lake at the base of the Zugspitze mountain
The Eibsee Lake is situated approximately 100 km southwest of Munich and near the town of Grainau. The lake is 9km away from the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and at the foot of the Zugspitze (Germany’s highest mountain). The lake has a surface elevation of 973 m and its surface area is 195 hecatares.
The panorama around Eibsee Lake is breathtakingly beautiful and the crystal-clear water in the lake is amazing; the colour of the lake varies from deep blue to turquoise.
This entire area is ideal for hiking and biking in the summer and for every winter sport imaginable.
As Summer begins to fade, a glance back in fondness. A rolling, gentle Pano-Sabotage with a soupçon of Pano-Xtreme bending. And yes, for the past few years Summer seems to linger right through to the end of September in Toronto.

Studio 26
Located on scenic farmland just 20 minutes from central Cape Town, Studio 26 is a dedicated location facility consisting of two components constructed exclusively for production use. It caters to both stills and cine productions of any size and description.
The Open Air Studio: An outdoor studio consisting of an open roofed building structure, stairs, deck area, doorways, open windows and plenty of neatly paved floor space. With limitless angles to shoot from, it is a favourite with catalogue photographers and provides a blank canvas for art directors to turn into any scene imaginable.
The Lake Houses: Custom-built to give Cape Town the one thing it did not have - a rustic timber, lake-side cabin complete with classic jetty and a set of shabby-chic huts. Referencing both the American north, Alpine cabins and the Caribbean in one spot, the Lake Houses have been used extensively for countless outdoor themes. Moveable decking sections and a vintage pick-up truck are some of the props provided to complete the picture.
At nearly 8,000' Bryce Canyon is susceptible to every form of weather imaginable. The warm palette of colors that embody the walls, windows and hoodoos of Bryce fit the warm weather of summer to a tee.
When winter comes, however, with the occasional heavy snowfall, the cognitive dissonance of being surrounded by warm colored rocks topped by bright white snow in freezing cold temperatures adds to the surreal splendor that makes this place so magical.

The Manhattan of Burgundian Bruges in the Middle Ages. A lively port where busy traders assembled from all over Europe, and you could hear every imaginable language. A tangle of people loading and unloading pressed around the Toll House and the Rijkepijndershuis while citizens and merchants watched approvingly from the Burghers’ Lodge. Today the square is dominated by the stately presence of the world-famous master painter Jan van Eyck, and from here you can set off to discover peaceful, quiet working-class neighbourhoods. (Visit Bruges) As seen from the canal.
The Keel-billed Toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus) occurs in tropical lowland evergreen and secondary forests from southern Mexico, where it is the only large toucan, south through Central America to northern Colombia and extreme northwestern Venezuela. Its bizarrely patterned green, orange, red, and blue bill is diagnostic. It feeds largely on fruit, but also consumes arthropods and small vertebrates.

Yesterday, while Flickr was down for scheduled maintenance, I went to Trillium Hill. At this time on the Leelanau, there are many hillsides white with Trillium; and two different places are known as Trillium Hill. I went to the one closest to my home, listened to the birds sing, and took joy in the impossibility of ever capturing in a single shot all of the Trillium that I saw, not even with the widest lens imaginable.

It has been one of the best mornings of photography I have probably ever had.
It started with an incredible moon light shot of Salto Grande waterfall, a quick change of plans to capitalise on the most spectacular light imaginable and finished here, the beautiful cascades.
It’s hard to believe that some 60min after the glorious light seen in my earlier images Hurry up and dream and Touches, the sky was still a sight to be seen.
It had been an incredible morning and I was now ready to return to my tent, pack up for the day and head off for the next adventure.
One of my favourite spots of our 2-weeks round trip around Iceland: Olafsfjordur in Iceland's North fjords. the fjord is surrounded by beautiful mountains and great natural settings and standing by its shore offers the most amazing reflective scenarios imaginable.

Happily puttering about on the farm ... daydreaming, picking Georgia peaches (always peaches!) kissing the horses on their soft velvety noses, scampering with the sheep, frolicking with bunnies, growing magical things in the greenhouse, shoveling manure ... some things are admittedly more idyllic than others!
I am a homebody and introvert of the highest order...in any life imaginable. I find my joy in the peace and beauty of nature, in wide open spaces, in true friendship, in the unconditional love of horses and dogs (okay, in beer and tequila too!) and lest we forget, in college football! Go Dawgs!!! These things, to me, are all of the sweetest gifts from the universe.
I hope everyone has a safe weekend and finds joy wherever you travel, even if that is just from your front porch to the barn! Happy Easter! 🐣💖

Description in English, Dutch and German
English:
Dinant is a wonderful Belgian city where you can relax on the waterfront. There on that beautiful waterfront you can really enjoy a spectacle in the old-fashioned way with the water of the river in a shining leading role. As you stare at the eternally living protagonist and mentally recoil with the waves when another beautiful boat sails by, the reflections of the clouds come to life in the water. The waves then resemble the beautiful long hair of the actress who plays the best supporting role of her life. You are the calm itself and it is as if you are floating through the air on a saxophone. Meanwhile, you take another sip of your ice-cold drink. You are immersed in the play that takes place before your eyes for free but with a imaginable handbrake on the saxophone of the invisible Mr. Sax, the theater piece suddenly comes to a stop. Then the play turn into a beautiful painting with the boats in the foreground. Those boats together really look like a harmonica. In your mind you hear a passionate music virtuoso playing a beautiful Belgian tune on that sailing harmonica while you take the last sip of the drink that tastes even better than ever before.
Nederlands:

And a light at the end of the tunnel that we are all trying to reach so desperately and as soon as possible? But before we can finally step out into the sunshine, we have to make it through a seemingly infinite and not exactly inviting looking corridor. Which brings me straight to the strange appeal of peeling paint – colorful, g(l)or(e)ious peeling paint in abundance, in all shapes and flakes imaginable. OK, I'll admit that this is probably a "peeling paint overkill", and to make it look more appealing I pushed and pulled the sliders hard ;) Pre-processed in DXO PhotoLab , HDR-fied in HDR Efex (which brought out the colours so nicely), glow-ified in ON1 Photo-Raw – and some other slidings I don't remember ;) As usual, I have a basic idea of how I want an image to look like, a certain mood I want to bring across, and then I use all sorts of filters and stuff to get there, but I hardly ever write down each step, as it's way more fun to go with the creative flow, isn't it? By the way, you can take a closer look at that chair by the door in the image in the first comment – and there you can also fully admire its super stylish decorative fabric :)
Happy (Sliders) Sunday, Everyone!

At Marrawah on Tasmania's north west coast we come across the richest farmland in the country. The green you see here is exactly as it appears. The annual average rainfall in this part of the world is 1092.2 mm.
It is also said that Cape Grim in the top centre of this landscape has the cleanest measured air in the world. The winds that blow across the southern ocean have travelled over no landfall for over 16,000 kms. It is fresh, and the rainwater here is the cleanest imaginable. www.capegrim.com.au/

Today the square is dominated by the stately presence of the world-famous master painter Jan van Eyck, and from here you can set off to discover peaceful, quiet working-class neighbourhoods. (Visit Bruges)
Van Eyck settles in Bruges in 1432 and marries Margareta van Eyck in 1432 or 1433. The portrait he painted of her (1439) is the first known portrait of a painter's wife. You can't get any closer to the person Jan van Eyck and his intimate atmosphere.
He caused a revolution in the history of painting in the Netherlands between around 1420 and 1441. His work abruptly ends the refined 'international style' that dominates art at that time.
The artist set himself up as a true innovator. His work determined the history of painting. He is best known for his masterful mastery of the oil painting technique. An advantage of oil paint, in combination with his groundbreaking craftsmanship, was that he was able to reproduce every aspect of reality, from fabrics to precious gems and even natural phenomena, making his paintings extremely realistic.
He was one of the first painters to adopt an individual identity for themselves, rather than just being craftsmen. He signed his paintings, which was fairly unusual at the time.
Once again we have reached May and all flowers are blossoming .....My biggest happiness of this month are the rape seed flowers and of course tulips in all imaginable colors. This is taken on the 1st of May which we celebrate in Sweden with picnics outdoors with friends and family. We visited the gorgeous Botanical garden that still doesn't have the Summer blooms but I found the most lovely tulips like this one in orange and red hues.
Hope you enjoy it.
My last visit to the Time and Tide Bell at Mablethorpe had the worst sky imaginable so a few weeks ago despite the fact I had to walk further from the car than I am comfortable with due to my very many periods of PVCs. I simply could not turn down the opportunity to capture the Sculpture with the possibilities the sky presented me with on this particular day. Without breaking the speed limits we sped along and then heart in mouth I reached the site of the bell and as can imagine I worked that scene from every possible angle. This is a favourite because of the sky. As you can see we waited a couple of hours for the tide to come in so we could hear the bell chime, which is supposedly quite soft. Did we hear it ring ? A big fat NO....
Time and Tide Bells are exceptional public artworks by sculptor Marcus Vergette. This one is on the coast north of Mablethorpe. They stand near the high tide mark at sites round the coast. Played by the movement of the water, the bell creates a varying, gentle, musical pattern, changing as the tide rises.
For those interested in a close up photo of the Time and Tide Bell here is the link to my previous shot..
The dramatic Grind o da Navir of Eshaness. Here the mightiest western storm seas imaginable have smashed a great hole in the sea cliff wall and thrown thousands of tons of ignimbrite rock through the gap. These boulders have built up into a giant storm beach, a distance from the sea, trapping a small loch between the two.

Phoenicopterus ruber
(American flamingo / Flamenco del Caribe)
The American Flamingo is the only flamingo distributed through the Caribbean Sea, the northern coasts of South America, and on the Galapagos. It was formerly considered conspecific with the Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) of the Old World.
Like other flamingos, it feeds in saline and brackish lagoons by straining water through the lamellae on its unique bill and swallowing the invertebrate organisms trapped inside. The American tends to feed somewhat deeper than other flamingos, with the head and often much of the neck submerged.

Here, one can observe every imaginable sea bird there is, including egrets, white pelicans, loons, coots, avocets, ducks, and terns in their nesting environment. Since Wally would not stay in his pouch, he was taught to walk, and he took to his lessons with enthusiasm. With a hand supporting his upper body, and gradually moved forward, he quickly learned to follow with his hind legs. Once he learned how to move his back legs, it was just a matter of practice, and he was standing upright and hopping in no time.
Thereafter, he hopped everywhere, and explored everything. He was the dearest little Wallaby imaginable, and the complete opposite of Evan in every respect, except one; he craved cuddles and would happily lay in any arms that would hold him.
Ara ararauna
(Blue-and-yellow Macaw / Guacamayo azul y amarillo)
The blue-and-yellow macaw generally mates for life. Ara ararauna is a boldly colored resident of the Neotropics that is found from eastern Panama through Colombia and from Venezuela east to Brazil and south to Bolivia.
Within their preferred habitat of seasonally flooded várzea and gallery forest, Blue-and-Yellow Macaws feed on a variety of fruits and nuts. The Blue-and-Yellow Macaw is not a globally threatened species, but its numbers are declining across much of its range due to hunting and the relentless collection of young birds for the pet trade.

Sometimes there is no other response but AWE. Staring in amazement and wonder, left speechless without word, completely left in AWE. It is a response that warrants us to sit and ponder. It is like our very soul is fully consumed by something so much greater than ourselves. In that moment, no other response is possible, or imaginable. This is the state our Creator intended us to be in when looking upon Him! His infinite wisdom baffles our limited knowledge. His limitless creativity has lest generations in amazement. His very presence leaves me in AWE!

An interesting looking dredging boat on the Yangtze River. This is the seventeenth of a set of images I photographed during a five-day cruise on the famous Yangtze River in China, of ships we passed along the way. The river cruise sailed from Wuhan, a city now made famous by the Coronavirus, westwards to our final destination Chongqing, a sprawling city of over 31 million people.
Along the way we passed all sorts of interesting sights including every type of water craft imaginable, large industrial factories, beautiful mountain scenery, numerous not-so-beautiful destructive quarries along the river's edge, ancient temples, small villages and of course the three Gorges Dam project.
The violaceous jay is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest. This species is mainly a lowland bird although locally this jay may variously range to elevations as high as 500-1,400 m.
The violaceous jay is 33–38 cm (13–15 in) long. It is omnivorous, mainly consuming fruits, insects, and bird and reptile eggs.

This rain forest image was composed while hiking to Mauan Lake, near Milford Sound in NZ. In the words of Margaret Barbour: "Officially, this is a temperate-podocarp hardwood rain forest, but these dry words belie the rich diversity of plant life around, encompassing every imaginable shade of green, brown and grey. They also do injustice to the experience of standing dwarfed by the soaring trunks of 400-year-old Rimu Trees, draped in moss, with their beautifully drooping branches of tiny deep-green needles like a million cascading green waterfalls."
