Went over and had a look at this amazing Scammell this morning. Thanks for letting us pop over and have a look. The trader is a real beauty aswell stunning. A big thanks....
First guided imaging session since I did the Hypertune on my CGEM-DX. Any and all problems I was having with DEC guiding has been completely resolved. I had a slight oscillation in the RA axis which I think is from using a little too much grease on the RA bell gear. I should have taken it back apart and cleaned it off but I didn't, and now I'm kinda kicking myself for being lazy. Anyway, other than the slight RA oscillation I had my usual focus issues as is very evident in this frame. Seeing was great so I can't blame the sky gods ;)
One more issue I encountered was in the use of a 15 foot power cable for my CCD. I usually run the supplied cable off a regulated power source (Stanley Power Station), but last night I used the extended cord and ran it off the car battery. The difference I think I'm finding is an extreme jump in noise and hot pixels. Not 100% sure this is the cause but I can't find anything else done differently to warrant the huge increase in noise.
Overall happy with the mount as this was just a test of backlash really.
