During our daily travels over the islands, we saw unique and beautiful places.
This image was taken from Sjøtun, a charming and unspoiled village, nestling on the edge of Kattfjord set amongst the spectacular mountains on the island of Kvaløya. This idyllic location is only 40 minutes from Tromsø.

I am generally good at pin-pointing where I have taken photos, even when it was a short stop. But this, taken when I tagged along on a tour of Dalarna my husband made with a bunch of colleagues, beats even me. All I can say is that I know it is the lake Siljan.
(Edit - after some real map searching I identified the place to be Siljansnäs.)
A warm, idyllic summer evening and my eye almost subconsciously caught the potential image where I was sitting with a friend and his two big dogs. I whipped out that iPhone, put it on Pano and took the shot while we were talking. I cropped it a bit on the right, took out the glare from the sky and upped the colour saturation to bring out the colour and lighting that my eyes were seeing at the time. I see much more vividly than cameras record, so I'm always adjusting my images to give me back what I see when I'm looking.

An idyllic image, wouldn't you agree -- the peachy-sepia tint and HDR added for Happy Slider Sunday!!
Seen in El Golfo, Lanzarote, Canary Islands. With many thanks to my good friend Liek for her great texture.
boathouse and pier at the largest lake in the park, once also belonging to the abbey, but all 's of the community already long time, just open to the public
it was especially idyllic now in the snow... and romantic: young couple on the deck in the background watching the birds on the snow in the middle of the lake
much better in reality... just so much brighter and vibrant!
This scene would be my description of a perfect site to build a home. Surrounded by mountains, pond, views, and lush green woodlands, all contribute to an idyllic scenery that most would treasure.

c'est dans ce décor idyllique que l'on peut encore retrouver une solitude dirigée vers la nature et ses composantes de diversité et de couleurs chatoyantes
Waking up to this in the mornings blows me away! We rented a wonderful house for a few days, with rear balconies overlooking this inlet.
This is the western arm of the Ucluelet Inlet on the Ucluelet Peninsula. It looks out, southward, to the Loudoun Channel and the Beg Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Just out of shot, to the east side of this channel, are three First Nations Reserves - Ittatsoo Indian Reserve, Stuart Bay Indian Reserve and Dookqua Indian Reserve. Many First Nations people live and work around this area. I loved this aspect of the place!
Foreground trees are, I think, Western Hemlock or Tsuga.
I found this to be Paradise...Just awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping beauty, both in the scenery and the wildlife. In-love-with-place!
