Another oldie I must get out more !!

The Smile on Saturday theme is ORANGE! For those of us who have been teachers or parents or artists, this is a well known staple in the creative kit!

There are four orange possibilities in the photostream along with a collage of the four.

The Empire State Building and food vendors seen on a side street are an iconic sight in midtown Manhattan.

Here's a photo of the iconic lighthouse bathing in the early sunlight, I got there by 5:30am and had the lighthouse all to myself and one other photog. Walking around and finding this small puddle, I was super happy with even just a partial lighthouse reflection.

Many thanks to your visit, favs and comments; wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

An iconic symbol of London, Tower Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses River Thames near the Tower of London.

The truly spectacular Quiraing is an icon of Scotland. Many people visit only the first short section of path. My intention was to walk around it, but heavy rain prevented me from doing so. A real shame, as the site is so spectacular.

Okay, everybody takes this shot. Sorry, but I just couldn't resist. What is worth noting is the cave is a lot smaller than it looks.

(Shot low to high.) Second, it is a pretty good hike in the weather to get there. We were told, but I cannot confirm, that the winds were gusting to 88 mph. Not everyone in our group made it and one who made it fell and hit her head. So, in the weather, it wasn't an easy hike albeit a rewarding one. 20200117IceCaveDXOLr5

COMMENTS & INVITATIONS with AWARD BANNERS will be respectfully DELETED!

An early morning image of the iconic T.A. Moulton barn in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming USA. with the majestic Teton mountain range in the background. The barn is all that remains of the homestead which T.A. Mouton and his sons built between 1912 and 1945. This is said to be the most photographed barn in the USA, and the reason why is pretty obvious.

Vintage, rustic-style entrance sign on Highway 61 at Gooseberry Falls State Park. This sign is one of my earliest memories of the North Shore.

The park is located in Castle Danger, about ten miles north of Two Harbors, Minnesota on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It is one of Minnesota's most popular and treasured state parks.

It was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the late 1930's/early 1940's as part of the New Deal getting men back to work during the Great Depression. There are several awesome historic buildings here along with lots of trails, many feet of rocky Lake Superior shoreline, a campground (book a year ahead of time for summer camping!), an awesome picnic area with CCC-built tables still in place and lots more.

It's a "must stop" place if you are going anywhere on the North Shore.

Cannot upload something new these days. Here’s an old pic of the classic view of Manarola, Liguria, Italy. Another attempt to present this incredible and cute town in the twilight of the spring evening. Zenith MC Zenitar-C Canon 16 mm F/2.8 Fisheye

Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.

Built in 1974, the sign became known as the “gateway to the Cross”, featuring on music videos, TV, famous photographs and as a landmark meeting point.

Considered the largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere at 41 metres long and 13 metres high, the sign is comprised of two sides – the right being the traditional red and white Coca-Cola sign and the left being a flex-faced sign that’s used to display the latest Coke campaigns.

This guy caught me by a total surprise, just like falling instead of a launch, and this is the very best I could do. Tomorrow I will start a series I'm very proud of, and one I've never been able to get in 20-years, so I'm very happy indeed.

Thank you for stopping by, it is always so very much appreciated.

I took this several years ago near Yellowstone National Park. The Grand Teton Mountain Range is in the background.

It is a composite of two images, one, a texture, by Distressed Jewel, and the other, the original photo.
