In Spain, they celebrate Semana Santa, of Holy Week, with a series of very solemn processionals throughout the week. The images are very disturbing if you are unfamiliar with the tradition. The images remind us of obvious parallels to those seen of the KKK. That's what I was looking for and this was my first time shooting at 1600 with my Minolta. The pictures are dirty and grainy which I didn't try to disguise in any way. It has that journalistic feel of old newspaper photos. In my opinion, this is one of the strangest traditions in the Spanish Catholic church and I find it utterly fascinating and disturbing all the same.
