This afternoon, I was lucky enough to have shot this eastbound (geographically, sb) coal load running through Kansas City with a quartet (2+2) of new NS Tier IV GEVO's for power. Here, they're rolling by the IKEA in Merriam, KS on the BNSF Ft. Scott Sub, on its way towards the NS in Memphis and points east.
Silverliner IVs are in abundance as SEPTA Trains 531 on the right and 546 on the left meet at Bryn Mawr.

Seen just after delivery is NUO690. This coach, TCR690, was one of twelve AEC Regal IVs (TCR680-91) new to Devon General’s coaching arm Grey Cars of Torquay, replacing the Duple bodied Regal IIIs.
These vehicles had underfloor 9.6 litre engines and Willowbrook 41seat bodies. They were comfortable vehicles. Their somewhat austere appearance was due to the fact that the original plan was to cascade them into the bus fleet but that never occurred. Withdrawn in 1962 this coach passed with the others to Greenslades Tours but by the end of that year was operating for Bowerman‘s Tours of Taunton.

This man came looking for me to my house and asked me if I had negatives of the photo I took of him once back in 2014. He wanted to show it to his grandchildren. He said, he has no photos.

This afternoon, a friend and I took off to the La Junta Sub to catch the two Tier IV EMD's coming in on the H-PUEKCK. After overrunning the train near Cedar Point, KS, we got these shots of it pulling into the siding at Clements. The lighting certainly wasn't ideal, but I'll take what I can get.
These Black Eyed Susans are in bloom all over right now, and certainly add a nice touch of color to some otherwise drab photos.
