Swiss A319 24/07/19 ZRH

Manchester Airport EGCC Runway 05R

First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVYC, this aircraft was delivered to Swissair as HB-IPT in Sep-97. It was sold to a lessor on delivery and leased back to Swissair. Swissair ceased operations on 31-Mar-02 and the aircraft was transferred to Crossair who initially continued limited operations. Crossair was renamed Swiss International Airlines in Jul-02. It was permanently retired at St. Athan, Wales, UK in Mar-20.

The owners of Air Plus Comet also owned Aerolineas Argentinas (for a while) and the tie-up can be seen in the Aerolineas Argentinas tail logo and engines.

First flown in Apr-92 with the Airbus test registration F-WWCX, this aircraft was delivered to Balair (Switzerland) as HB-IPM in Apr-92. Balair and CTA merged to form Balair CTA in Jan-93.

It was sold to a lessor in Dec-98 and leased back to Balair CTA. In Sep-99 the aircraft was returned to the lessor and leased to Oman Air as A4O-OD in Nov-99. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Brussels (Belgium) in Sep-01. In Feb-02 it was returned to the lessor as N642KS and remained stored.

In Jul-02 the aircraft was ferried to Lisbon (Portugal) for further storage until it was leased to Air Plus Comet (Spain) as EC-IPT in Jun-03. It was repossessed at New York-JFK in Apr-06 due non-payment of leasing charges.

Air Plus Comet must have paid the bill because the aircraft was re-leased to them in around a week later. The 'Plus' was dropped from the airline name in Jan-07 when it became Air Comet.

The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Jun-09 as N301LF and stored at Rio de Janeiro-Galileo. In Dec-09 it was moved to Miami, Fl, USA and repainted in Biman Bangladesh Airlines livery. It was leased to Biman Bangladesh as S2-AFT in Feb-10.

It was permanently retired at Dhaka, Bangladesh in Aug-12. The aircraft was last noted at Dhaka in Feb-14, slowly being broken up for spares. Updated 25-Nov-22.
