In the midst of ripening wheat fields at the ARM Southern Great Plains (SGP) locale, ARM researchers look at a handheld display to monitor and control data collection during the Aerosol Intensive Operational Period (IOP) in May 2003.
Data collection activities in this IOP included the acquisition of detailed measurements of aerosol optical properties and cloud condensation nuclei concentrations at the surface and aloft using ground and airborne instrumentation. Surface spectral albedo measurements were taken with a spectroradiometer mounted on a tripod. The instrument includes a wireless remote connection with computer and handheld display.
