The interior of Audubon contains a nest, feather, twig and a text block of birds of Chicago. The walls are copper mesh and polymer clay.

In the Guest Haus Suite, you will have a spacious bedroom, private bath, plus your own sitting room. In this suite, you will also find a microwave, coffee maker and a little refrigerator, as well as enough kitchen furnishings to stay in for meals, if you feel like resting. The Suite is fully handicap accessible.

This summer I did a solo cycling tour across Europe through 12 countries over the course of 3 months. I began my adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland and finished in Florence, Italy cycling 8,816 km. During my trip I took 47,000 photos. I recently got through my initial sifting through my photos and I'm now ready to share some of my favourites.

A few more from inside the abbey, which I suspect was an empty shell when it was bought by the county council just after WWII. The task of finding suitable furniture must have been quite fun but also daunting. This is another pretty tiled floor, this one a mosaic and presumably original.

On the last full day of our 2024 autumn visit to Nürnberg we decided it was time to visit some of the older, historic sites. A couple of the old churches were on our list — first the St. Lorenz church and then the Sebalduskirche. This photograph is of the interior of the latter. Of the two, this one seemed darker and a bit more foreboding, though the change in the ambient outdoor light may have played a role in this impression.

This is a very old medieval church — construction began 800 years ago. Like so many buildings in this part of Nürnberg, the structure was seriously damaged during WWII. Since then it was restored, and today there is little obvious evidence of the destruction.
