This is actually a picture of cellular artefact taken through a microscope when I was working with a cancer research group way back in 2006. The technique we were using was FISH (Fluorescent in situ hybridisation) used to localise specific DNA sequences in chromosomes. It's a fascinating technique, pretty powerful. It was always amazing to be transported to a whole new world of darkness and brilliant bursts of colour just by peering into the lens of the microscope. After hours of staring at cell after cell however, one very quickly began to imagine all sorts of weird and whimsical in that teeny universe!
these blue bubbles/sun spots/orbs showed up in all my photos hear

Day 162 of 365: "Intergalactic Cruise Ship"
This power plant at night has been on my bucket list to photograph since I've started this project. It's always quite magnificent to see when I drive home late at night and have always wanted to capture this crazy intergalatic cruise ship.
Tonight after having a fun Pro Click photo group meeting, my carpool buddies reminded me that I still hadn't captured my picture of the day, and offered to help. For nighttime adventures, it's always good to have a couple accomplises!
Shooting the power plant from this angle really made me think of a prison for some reason. Perhaps too much "Walking Dead" the other night? Perhaps too much feeling of "We shouldn't be here..."? (This was shot right from the frontage road for what it's worth.)
Thanks to Jennifer and Kathy for being my partners in crime! So happy to finally get this shot!! :)
