My intention with this shot was to capture the light exactly as I saw it. The sun was already over the horizon and darkness was descending.
This year I had no intention for uploading an Autumn shot. I haven't been away into the forests because of lack of time. But when I was looking for a picture to use for a new years card, I saw this one again and thought, well on the end of autumn I might do one. This shot was done in "de Lage Vuursche". As a child I often came here, looking for mushrooms with my father and in autumn it is one of most beautiful forests I know.

My intention was to shoot intimate landscape on a certain spot. When that turned out to be a poor idea, I turned 180 degrees and shot landscape instead.

A friend and I make an "intention image" for the new year. May you each have a year filled with your own type of morning glories, kittens, and delightful breakfasts to warm your heart and bring inspiration in 2023. Happy New Year!
Happy Sliders Sunday!
Thanks to Groman123 for the bokeh and to Brad Smith for the morning glory.
And to Basho for the haiku that I took off from.
No intention to give anyone an earworm with the title.
Except maybe Dan, I owe him a few.
Finally paying you back, Dan.....no need for thanks.

I have no intention of offending, There is a saying, God can change to one thousand kinds of appearance, Become a variety of religions, Trying to make people of all colors more willing to get close, Show the miracles convincing. More respect and tolerance may reduce many disputes.
This Buddhist faction, is passed from Tibet to Taiwan, This and Buddhism in Taiwan is different. Some factions of Tibetan Buddhism, The most controversial is the men and women double repair, This is illegal in some countries, Destruction of family system and morality. I heard that men and women double repair, Is an effective method, The point is, it is not the only way. I believe that most religions are beneficial.
It was always my intention when I made Ji-Woon for our RP sim, for there to be at least a four man band. Ji-Woon has a bit of a tragic past, so he had left his band (named No Bounds). He moved to America, and now the other members are slowly making their own way to the USA to be with him. So here is member number 2! Lee Chanyeol. Or Channie as Ji-Woon lovingly calls him. The other two members are still on their way. Yes they're holding hands, and if you have ever seen any SKZ video you will understand the vibe we are going for with the band. LOL SKZ is also the music claim for No Bounds.

Sera had every intention of joining her classmates at the Midnight Masque today, she really did, but somewhere between leaving the carriage and stepping into the courtyard, her feet had taken her elsewhere. The thought of pretending to make merry grated more and more with every step and her thoughts turned dark and entirely unproductive.
Intention was to keep the orange bold but nondescript so the color of the stamens drew the attention.
My main intention was to take the Sri Wawasan bridge at sunset but when I turned around to look at the mosque, I said WOW! The blue hour effect was superb! I purposely composed this shot with the pontoon jetty to show depth.

With a nod to Bill Brandt.
Standing at this spot, I hoped for some rain, unfortunately it didn't happen. 😂
Staying in Yorkshire Dales last week, I couldn't leave without visiting Halifax, for a brief photoshoot. After all, as a true admirer of Bill Brandt, this Industrial town had his special attention, since it was located in one of Britain's most economically depressed areas. Hail, Hell & Halifax and the Snicket are well-known examples of his work. It was not my intention to copy Brandt, which, by the way, is completely impossible. I show different locations than he did as far as I know, except for the Snicket. I couldn't pass that up. But I tried to stay in his mood and use the same obscurity and excessively strong contrasts, as he did when he intended to document the social extremes of life in Britain in the late thirties. Time has changed, so I could only focus on the architecture of that period, which has been preserved in a remarkable number of places.

My intention was to process this wreck in b&w but so much of its character was lost (along with her funnel, not sure what happened to that) Trevor Cotton summed it up perfectly with a comment he added to his lovely shot of this old ferry. www.flickr.com/photos/exectra/6832855056/
The intention was to spend the night on Llanddwyn and return the following morning.
Pre sunset it wasn't looking great with high grey cloud but I decided to stick it out as the weather app said there would be a gap.
Everyone else had left and I slowly set up whilst watching in awe at one of the best sunsets I've seen this year, silently congratulating myself for staying.
I'd had my tin of chilli and boil in the bag rice and way too much coffee and carried on shooting until the break in the cloud had gone and the forecast low cloud moved in. The wind had started to pick up also and as dusk turned to dark and the temp plummeted I decided my 2 season sleeping bag wouldn't be enough to keep me warm through the night. I also didn't fancy packing up in the wind and rain that was forecast so reluctantly packed up in what little light was left.
I made the walk back to the bus shelter and suddenly realised why all the others had left before sunset. The tide was too far in and it was still another hour before high tide. Two and half hours later and it was safe to make the walk back along Newborough beach with the wind picking up all the time and thick black clouds being illuminated by the full moon.
10/10 for boy scout prep, 0/10 for not reading the tides!
The intention of the Catalan and Spanish Government to expand Josep Tarradellas Barcelona El Prat airport is generating considerable controversy and is found on all media fronts and in all circles of opinion nowadays. The point is that the expansion would put at risk the reedbeds and the wetlands of La Ricarda, which are part of the natural area of Llobregat river delta, an ecosystem inhabited by diverse animal species.

The photo was taken on our hike last Monday in the Swabian Alps and the building is a restaurant. It was closed that day which didn't matter as we had no intention to eat there anyway. The place looks lovely in all seasons but I always find it quite spectacular in autumn.
Last week I was again with my family in the Swiss Alps. And my intention was to find some wonderful spring spots. But apparently the weather god had other ideas as you can see in my image here. I must confess that I never had such an extreme experience of falling temperatures and snow storms in April. In less than a couple of hours the area was completely converted into a winterwonderland … and damn … it was really icy cold!!! And my thoughts belong to all the farmers I know from this area here. One week later after I made this shot here I heard that they lost all grapevine due to the extreme temperatures below zero degrees. Everything was destroyed!!! But at this point in time when I made this shot here I tried to go up a mountain … I couldn’t care less about harsh weather but I must confess … it was not so funny to walk in a snow storm and therefore my hike was really short. If you could zoom in you would see how much it was snowing in the distance and how strong the wind was. My location had only a small break and I could see a cloudburst. I had not much time to set up my equipment with my new filter system and to make this shot here.
Yes, I have a new filter system. I never used to have one because I was never happy with the results. Normally for the most of my images I use my 14-24mm Nikkor lens. And to find a fitting filter system is not very easy. Several years ago I bought the one from Leefilters that suits the need of a 14-24mm Nikkor lens. But I was so disappointed about the results. Vignetting, color cast and the nightmare to put the system on this particular lens. I’m talking about to put a part of the filter system behind the lens … I mean you must detach the lens from the body, attach this part behind the lens, attach the lens again with the body and finally attach the rest of the filter system on the front of the lens. And all this in a possible snow storm ha ha ha … what a nightmare and what an adventure. I never never used it again!!
Well, since a long time I was reading so many good things about my new system from Lucroit! So simple and so effective in any ways! I’m so happy and so impressed about this filter system!!!! This is indeed my first image I used this new filter system. Attached in only a few seconds without removing the lens from the body. No vignetting and no color cast! Wow … really wow! Here I only used a circular polarizer to capture the extreme light conditions and I hope you enjoy my new work.
Thank you for your time and interest in my photos, your visit is most appreciated.

A 4-shot panorama, stitched in Photoshop, of the lake and the boathouse at Newmillerdam, Wakefield, taken at the very beginning of summer when all the leaves were a beautiful, lush green colour.
My intention is to return to this spot and take a similar image in the autumn, winter and spring and then I can hopefully make an image showing the changes throughout the seasons.

It's hard to do Down without Up in San Francisco.... My intention, standing at the top of the hill, was to emphasize Down, but looking at this it seems rather to emphasize going up.... Hmmm... At any rate, this is my neighborhood at 7:30 in the morning, with its ups and downs...
The intention with this was to make a daisy chain using daisies from the field behind my home. It's many a good year since I made one during which time , my fingers have become too fumbly, so I ended up with this and the one in comments, which I've done before for a 365 shot.
I've always like this image as it suits the name of the place, Grange Hollow. It's been sitting idle on my hard drive since 2015 and I never came up with an appealing edit. On this occasion I tried a cross processing version that looked a bit more interesting. I had every intention of posting it for Slider Sunday but didn't quite make it.
Our intention was to walk to the Brandenberg gate. When we reached this road, it was actually closed off as a fans area was built around the Brandenberg gate for the Euros. So I had the whole road to myself. bam! Having said that, Some light trails from passing by traffic may have been a nice addition.

Even though I was just scouting this view at the time, I could not leave here without taking a shot. I envisioned vertical orientation for this scene; however a horizontal composition would include more of the top of the falls. Therefore, I decided to attach my B&W 110 filter, and attempt a long exposure. My intention was to add a surreal effect to this daytime capture, by turning the waterfall into slow motion mist.

Portmeirion Village, which was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village. In Gwynedd, North Wales.
Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmeirion's designer, denied repeated claims that the design was based on the town of Portofino, Italy. He stated only that he wanted to pay tribute to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean. He incorporated fragments of demolished buildings, including works by several other architects. Portmeirion's architectural bricolage and deliberately fanciful nostalgia have been noted as an influence on the development of postmodernism in architecture in the late 20th century.
The main building of the hotel and the cottages "White Horses", "Mermaid", and "The Salutation" had been a private estate called Aber Iâ, developed in the 1850s on the site of a late 18th Century foundry and boatyard. Williams-Ellis changed the name (which he had interpreted as "frozen mouth") to Portmeirion: "Port-" from its place on the coast; "-meirion" from the county of Merioneth (Meirionydd) in which it was sited. The very minor remains of a mediaeval castle (known variously as Castell Deudraeth, Castell Gwain Goch and Castell Aber Iâ) are in the woods just outside the village.
In 1931 Williams-Ellis bought from his uncle, Sir Osmund Williams, the Victorian crenellated mansion Castell Deudraeth with the intention of incorporating it into the Portmeirion hotel complex, but the intervention of the war and other problems prevented this. Williams-Ellis had always considered the Castell to be “the largest and most imposing single building on the Portmeirion Estate" and sought ways to incorporate it. Eventually, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the European Regional Development Fund as well as the Wales Tourist Board, his original aims were achieved and Castell Deudraeth was opened as an 11-bedroom hotel and restaurant.
The grounds contain an important collection of rhododendrons and other exotic plants in a wild-garden setting, which was begun before Williams-Ellis's time by the previous owner George Henry Caton Haigh and has continued to be developed since Williams-Ellis's death.
Portmeirion is now owned by a charitable trust, and has always been run as a hotel, which uses most of the buildings as hotel rooms or self-catering cottages, together with shops, a cafe, tea-room, and restaurant. Portmeirion is today a top tourist attraction in North Wales and day visits can be made on payment of an admission charge.

My initial intention was to edited this in a mytical, even slightly threatening way: the usual approach to these woods. But as it progressed I thought of it in a more uplifting way. Happy Hobbits would want more joy in their lives, sparkle & colour. Hence sunshine permeates the dowdy rocks & moss. Who is to say that this is not how it is when we are not looking. After all, them pesky humans mess everything up so we need to fool them to leave us alone.
So my thinking went . . . .
My intention was to photograph the Milky Way over the Abiquiu reservoir. But, as it's often the case, the clouds had other plans. They looked like they were going to dissipate but that wasn't so. Instead, they became denser as the evening went on.
I had not done a night shot since last year and I was determined to get one, Milky Way or not.
So I set up this composition, with a Chamisa bush in the foreground. My friend Greg had the wherewithal to bring a couple of camping chairs, so we sat out in the warm night and a slight breeze and had a good time urging the cloud to move on. Well, as evident in this photo, it was unmoved, literally, by our efforts.
I took several shots of the foreground bush during nautical twilight, some illuminated by my flashlight, some by the spillover from passing headlights. I don't know which was which anymore.
I selected the best foreground shot and combined it with the best sky shot. All in all it came out pretty nice.
The clouds are illuminated by the wastefully spilled light of the towns of Española and Los Alamos. On the other hand, that spilled light delineates the horizon nicely.
SYML - "Heartbreakdown"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQOelHj88aA
Here’s the thing about a heartbreak, it will happen all your life
In the morning on your wedding day, in a tearful last goodbye
It might find you at the station, sit beside you on the train
Kiss you softly with intention
Leave you breathless from the pain
When a heart breaks down
Won’t you stand your ground and start again?
When a heart breaks down
Will you find your way somehow to love again?
Lately she’s been up ‘til sunrise, sleep is lost and can’t be found
It’s not the water on the nightstand
It’s not the book she can’t put down
It’s the echo of some bad news, and the doctors whisperin’
It’s the memory of a warm embrace
And the breath she’s holding in
There’s beauty in the blessed heartbreak
There is life after the flood
No one here has suffered through it
Without courage in their blood
Here’s the thing about forgiveness
She’s the child of love and hate
And recognizing that you need her
So will bring peace along the way
