On February 11, 2023, at 11 am slt, we are going to celebrate a graduation show for the students of the Ayuda Virtual Modeling course. For several months they have studied modeling ethics, catwalk management, styling and posing, fashion research, Second Life photography and blogging. Kinkaku-ji "Temple of the Golden Pavilion"), officially named Rokuon-ji, lit. "Deer Garden Temple"), is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan.
The garden complex is an excellent example of Muromachi period garden design. The Muromachi period is considered to be a classical age of Japanese garden design. The correlation between buildings and its settings were greatly emphasized during this period. It was a way to integrate the structure within the landscape in an artistic way. The garden designs were characterized by a reduction in scale, a more central purpose, and a distinct setting.
A minimalistic approach was brought to the garden design, by recreating larger landscapes in a smaller scale around a structure.
It is designated as a National Special Historic Site and a National Special Landscape, and it is one of 17 locations comprising the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto World Heritage Site. It is also one of the most popular buildings in Japan, attracting a large number of visitors annually.

It was discovered on 5 August 1826 by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop.
Located in the southern constellation Sculptor, NGC 300 measures 22 arc-minutes in apparent size and is only about 6 million light years distant. By comparison, M31 is 2.5 million, M33 2.73 million.
The spiral arms are full of young blue stars with H alpha regions interspersed throughout the galaxy. Although it appears to be face-on, it’s actually inclined at an angle of 42 degrees. It is gravitationally interacting with nearby NGC 55.
NGC 300 closely resembles M33. Both are replete with nebulae bright in Ha and OIII, both are similarly inclined spirals and both produce large numbers of unresolved stars that look like noise.

For Macro Mondays "Numbers" theme. A mechanical integrator is a complex device that was used to calculate ship's stability before digital computers became practical. The complete device is similar to this image: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mechanical_integrator_CHM...
The lens used was an old manual Zuiko 80mm f/4 macro on a sliding extension tube and micro 4/3's adapter, in spite of what the exif info states. Four Olympus high res shots were stacked in Photoshop. I would of liked to gotten one more but ran of focus adjustment.

The frigate (Q-2) ARA Libertad, built in the Rio Santiago Shipyard, is a sailing vessel with double topsails (five yards per pole that can be braced up to 45°) and three crossed masts (ratchet, major and mizzen), belonging to the Argentine Navy. The mission of the "Libertad" Frigate is to complete the professional training of the midshipmen of the Argentine Navy, contributing to the increase of their maritime knowledge and integrating them to life at sea. Likewise, it contributes to the foreign policy by representing the Argentine Republic in the ports where it comes to, where it disseminates the geographical, cultural and productive reality of its country. On the other hand, it fosters international naval relations, strengthening professional ties and friendship with the armies of other countries. In more than thirty-five instructional trips he has made, he visited 58 countries and more than 400 foreign ports.
Since its delivery, the frigate has traveled more than 800,000 nautical miles around the world and outside of its station has spent the equivalent of 17 years at sea. Around 11,000 Argentine sailors and friendly countries have passed through its covers and have been formed.

I recently published a well-received version of M81, it seemed rude not to process its compatriot.
In order to realise all the details you could argue the image is actually a L, L, L, L, L, L, L, L, L, L, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, RGB, RGB, RGB, RGB, RGB, RGB, rather than just a HaLRGB image!
In order to realise all the details I have been persisting with my (very time-consuming approach) of building the main layers from multiple stretches of the main frames from very dark to very light, a manual HDR (but with full control) most of the work is done in PI but the layering and masking has to be done in PS for control. I am finding at the longer focal lengths this really lets me realise all details from the dark (often washed out by brightness on such targets) to the very light, I can even stretch beyond the limit to realise the fainter details.
Anyway, hope you all like - not a quick process taking about 8 hours solid to process over a few days.
As well as realising some great detail I was pleased to see the inner structures showing well including the mushroom shape to the right and the double boundary of the left side (inner ring just about visible)
IC 4604 and friends. The Ro Ophiuchi Nebula
This is officially my first RGB picture without using narrowband filters. Taken from a bortle 2 zone during the new moon in the little town of Tolmie in country Victoria, Australia. This is about 15h of data across 2 panels. My FOV does not allow me to capture the whole of the Rho Ophiuchi complex, so this is the best I could do with the time I had.
Funny enough I did not combine the luminance channel with this data as I found that it washed out of a lot of the details in the blue channel, detail that just was not really visible in the luminance channel, no matter how hard I have tried to pull it out, so this is a straight RGB picture

While the broken clay pipe used to protect the shoreline along this section of Lake Ontario makes somewhat unsure footing to walk on I loved the contrast it created.
