Industry and nature can harmonize if people think along.
Europe, Portugal, Algavre, Sotavento, Tavira, Industrial building (slightly cut from T).
Shown here is the striking façade of a modernist industrial building. It belongs to the Rui Simao Salt works in Tavira. It's a far cry from the Calatravian sculptural high tech gesture posted two days ago. But there are similarities.
Number 72 of the Tavira album.
Shot in North Adams, Massachusetts USA with the Olympus E-M1 and the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 Pro lens.

"Industrial Death" 1979
Perhaps we were ignorant of what we were doing with, and to, our planet and it's creatures back then ? But it was certain death in the long run really. A slow death over several generations. This 'Coalite' Works was in a valley near where I grew up. The smell was all pervading in my village and along with the Coal Mines left a grim facade everywhere. And yet just 5 miles away were beautiful wild open moors and the Peak District. Have I made it look worse ? Not much tbh .. and it feels just like I remember and it fits my emotional reaction to this memory.
