Seeing the Trinity within the context of Jung’s psychosomatic unity reveals the process of individuation: the infinite field of the psyche is analogous to the “Father”; the actualizaiton of the psychic potential, the “Word”; and the energies of love that actualize the potential into existence, the “Spirit.” As the mind makes the journey inward and ascends to higher levels of consciousness, the God within awakens to a new reality of the whole. This awakening is a dynamic movement of love toward the actualization of potential life brought about by the expansion of consciousness on the level of integral wholeness or unity. The Trinity, therefore, symbolizes the psychosomatic relationships that give rise to wholeness and personhood, as divinity is incarnated at the highest level of Christ consciousness.
