The Tüshaus mill is a water mill near Dorsten-Deuten in North Rhine-Westphalia. The mill is located on the southern edge of the forest area of Üfter Mark, where the water of the Hammbach River from Rhade is stowed to the mill pond.
The history of the Tüshaus-Hof, to which the mill belongs, can be traced back to 1382. The lords of Lembeck, who held the water law in their territory, leased a whale mill driven by the water of the Hammbach in 1615 to a certain Mr. Tuschhaus.
However, the mill was not the first building on this site, as it was built on older foundations. Sheep were mainly kept in the extensive heathland surrounding the area. The wool was rolled in the Tüshaus mill by a hammer mill and sold as felt material to the region's cloth makers for further processing. The billing books include customers from Wesel, Recklinghausen, Westerholt, Dülmen, Münster and Dinxperlo.
The mill had already been increased in 1752 and expanded by a second mill wheel, so that since 1754 it also served the tenant Joan-Heinrich Tüshaus as an oil mill. The oil was obtained mainly from the rapeseed and linseed of the surrounding fields. In 1880 Albert Brosthaus was the Ölmüller, followed by Dumpe and Schetter. The old plants of the oil mill were replaced in 1914 by a modern hydraulic oil mill, which pressed the oil out of the seeds with 350 atü. The operation of the oil mill was discontinued around 1948 for economic reasons.

I managed to visit Kangaroo Island during my trip to Adelaide for the opening of the ANZANG exhibition at the SA Museum which includes my "Stormlight & Stardust" image. This is from a bay on the island being belted by storms over the Southern Ocean. Next stop from the edge here is Antarctica! It's been a long while since I've been able to shoot any seascapes, a conscious effort to expand the portfolio in other areas.

Sparrow-sized at 6 inches. Gray above and whitish below, with rust colored sides and a conspicuous gray crest. The "Black-crested Titmouse", a species found in southwestern Oklahoma and Texas is similar but has a black crest.
Their habitat includes swampy or moist woodlands, and shade trees in villages and city parks. In winter, at feeders.
They range from eastern Nebraska, southern Michigan, and Maine south to Texas, the Gulf Coast and central Florida.

The park includes approximately 768 lakes in an area of 70,533 acres. It is one of the most important water sources in Cuenca and Ecuador. It has gained international prominence in several categories:

We started the tour with a hike through the ecosystem of primary montane forest or cloud forest.

What is an Andean forest?
At this moment, I am surrounded by an Andean forest, also known as cloud forest due to the high humidity in this place. I could find them along the high Andean mountains. In Cajas Massif, these forests are located between 1,000 and 3,600 meters a.s.l. While I hiked on this trail, I witnessed the importance of caring for this forest.

Gaomei was called Gaomi in the Qing Dynasty and was renamed during the Japanese occupation. The wetlands here are over 300 hectares, but the area is only 1/10 of Dadu River wetlands. The geography is divided into 7 categories, which results in diversified organisms in this area. Gaomei Wetlands is one of the few places that has wild ducks.
Despite the small area, Gaomei Wetlands have special soils mixed with mud and sand. Ecology here breeds diversified organisms of both plants and animals. Research shows that animals here include birds, fishes, crabs and invertebrates.

Primula is a genus of mainly herbaceous flowering plants in the family Primulaceae. They include the familiar wildflower of banks and verges, the primrose (P. vulgaris). Other common species are P. auricula (auricula), P. veris (cowslip) and P. elatior (oxlip). These species and many others are valued for their ornamental flowers. They have been extensively cultivated and hybridised - in the case of the primrose, for many hundreds of years. Primula are native to the temperate northern hemisphere, south into tropical mountains in Ethiopia, Indonesia and New Guinea, and in temperate southern South America. Almost half of the known species are from the Himalayas. Primula has about 500 species in traditional treatments, and more if certain related genera are included within its circumscription. Primula is a complex and varied genus, with a range of habitats from alpine slopes to boggy meadows. Plants bloom mostly during the spring, with flowers often appearing in spherical umbels on stout stems arising from basal rosettes of leaves; their flowers can be purple, yellow, red, pink, blue, or white. Some species show a white mealy bloom (farina) on various parts of the plant. Many species are adapted to alpine climates. 4424

Nothing in a society stays the same and that includes the economy. Factories close, people lose their jobs, brands disappear......
One such disappeared icon in the automobile industry was the Belgian top brand "Minerva". which began producing automobiles in 1904.
This brand was named after the Roman goddess Minerva, the goddess of wisdom and arts, and her image adorned every radiator cap on the Minervas as a small work of art.
Many Minervas were soon exported to England with which heads of state and others famous people were transported.
The brand became increasingly popular with the wealthy part of the world's population, and many members of the royal houses of Romania, Thailand and India, among others, drove them.
Over time, the automobiles were also exported to America and Australia and were a huge succes in these countries.
Thus, even the American car manufacturer Henri Ford drove around in a Minerva because of its famous "Sleeve Valva System" of the Minerva's engines.
This engine system was executed without the conventional valve system.
This system made it possible to significantly reduce the excessive noise produced by the conventional engines of the time.
Minerva automobiles were a very formidable competitor to Rolls Royce, Isotta-Franchine, Hispano-Suiza and Duesenburg, the other greats of this period.
However, the great Belgian automobile brand Minerva did not survive the Great economic crisis of 1930 and went bankrupt in 1934.....
The automobile in the photo is the 1921 Minerva 00-Tourer with a Van der Plas bodywork and was very popular with the world's wealthy population and this model was driven privately by Henri Ford.
The engine was equipped with a 6 inline cylinders and had a capacity of 5.355 cc and an output pf 30 HP and of course it is equipped with the "Sleeve Valve System".
The "Sleeve Valve System" is a four-stroke engine that does not use inlet and exhaust valves and a camshaft, but sliding or rotating shutoff slide in the cylinder wall.
Therefor , the great advantage of this system is undoubtedly its noiseless operation.
However, there are also disadvantages to it and this concerns that it needs a complicated construction and has less direct cooling.
A still working example with a complete original engine is very, very rare and is one of the most sought after examples for colectors.

Activities include a four to five-hour hike around the caldera (whose diameter is just over 3 km). The caldera rim is highly irregular and reaches its maximum elevations (3,885 meters to the N, 3894 meters to the NW and 3,915 meters to the SE) at three lava domes. The 10 km hike is sandy and steep in places and can be quite taxing, particularly if there is fog.
It's a half-hour hike down from the viewpoint (and 1-2 hour hike back up the 280-meter vertical ascent), and very basic lodging down in its bowl. Camping is permitted at the bottom of the crater, but there is no potable water.
The lake surface is located at 3,500 meters above sea level. The total volume of water stored in Lake Quilotoa is 0.35 km3. According to local inhabitants, the lake level has been slowly declining over the last 10 years. Travertine deposits occur along the shore up to 10 m above the lake level (in the year 2000).
The Sajama National Park includes geological natural wonders like volcanoes, diverse organisms, and thermal springs, and also cultural wonders such as ancient burial buildings, cave paintings, and colonial architecture and art.

Of course, a Li-River visit also includes the classic photo motif known from the 20 yuan bill.
Our "rental fisherman" appeared with his equipment including the obligatory cormorants in the early morning in the dark at the agreed photo location.
Unfortunately we did not have the expected dream morning sky and sunrise, it was rather gray, cloudy and windy. As always, we tried to make the best of it.
Natürlich gehört zu einem Li-River Besuch auch das vom 20 Yuan-Schein bekannte klassische Fotomotiv.
Unser "Mietfischer" tauchte mit seinem Equipment einschliesslich der obligatorischen Kormorane am frühen Morgen noch in der Dunkelheit am vereinbarten Fotostandort auf. Leider hatten wir nicht den erwarteten Traum-Morgenhimmel und -Sonnenaufgang, es war eher grau, stark bewölkt und windig. Wie immer versuchten wir, das beste daraus zu machen.

The famous South Lawn underground car park at the University of Melbourne. This car park was used in the filming of Mad Max.
Built in 1971/72, this car park has aged as gracefully as myself. The design of the car park includes drainage from the ground above through the parabolic columns. Unique and controversial at the time.
I've visited here before but this time without my camera - had to use my phone, which forced me to think carefully about composition and lighting.
