In 1986 improvements were made to the service on the West Highland Line in the form of refurbished 37/4 locos fitted with ETH equipment.

Being refurbished they should be more reliable and ETH was a step up from the ever troublesome steam heating equipment used upto that time.

A poor patchjob on a 2 window BN SD60M rolls U-MNUCXA0-46T past Fairview Avenue in Downers. Now some of these things aren't the most pretty, but hey most aren't as bad as this!

R&N JTOS rolls down the former CNJ towards Industrial Road in Nesquehoning. The ongoing trackwork on this portion of the main line is apparent here.

The reason for coming out this way...

Brand new to the fleet, Centrebus Luton Enviro200MMCs YX23ORW (597) and YX23ORY (598) have been outshopped in a Connect Herts livery, itself a part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan from the UK Government.

With applicable branding for routes 390 and 907 between Stevenage and Hertford/Cheshunt, YX23ORY (598) heads along Brewery Road in Hoddesdon with a Route 907 service for Cheshunt (Brookfield Centre) 28/05/23

The old colonial town hall that has been neglected after the public events/shows a couple of years ago finally undergoes much needed restoration to be used for a new project...

I'm uploading photo memories, starting with our last trip to Canada.

Or, the kindness detector. Raw conversion in Silkypix, edited in Aviary.

Just a little pic relaxing at home after work. I received my 'you're on the approved waiting list' for the gender clinic now. So yes, I have a while to wait, but I'm on the way at least. Hope you are all well.

Here's this week's Thursday Throwback. This is a huge improvement on the previous scan, see below.

Despite having originally posted this nearly six years ago I'm still no closer to working out where this image was taken. The garage was called the something vale service station but sadly the key first part is obscured by the hose of one of the pumps. It must be quite short as a name, so Port Vale Service Station would be an example, but I'm fairly sure it's not that.

The site is a wonderful example of Esso style and livery of the era, the later 1970s and through the 1980s. The car is on an N plate so that dates the image to that range too. Can anyone shed any light on where this was?

Edit update:- Thanks to AquaValet, the location is now known. Handily, Richard has a contemporary image of it, see first comment below.

This is a shot of the infamous staircase at the Heal's store on Tottenham Court Road.

The have recently introduced a new light fitting running from the very top all the way down the centre of the staircase. It's a great addition to this fabulous staircase. Check out my other shots of the staircase a little while back to see the difference.

Pretty happy with how it's coming. I received the flag in the mail today, and I made the picnic banner yesterday!

A new bridge over the creek down from a very big beaver dam. The trail has been rerouted twice and might need to be again, luckily this bridge can be moved.
