Coming back east along the Staples Sub, one lone westbound showed coming out of the cities. I setup at the quiet crossing just east of the Big Lake Northstar station and soon observed a yellowbonnet come into view. The local GP60 pair speeds west with the NTWMIN (thanks Tom!), straight into the setting sun.

There is no time talking about the good feelings you have in your head or stomach when you successful enter a decayed location/building. In a hurry and sometimes with a higher heart rate I hunt for good compositions. In this room I walked by on my first 'watch around the corner' because I ordinary prefer the rooms with more mess, chaos and decay. After a few minutes, waiting for another shot I was taking, I decided to go back. So here my imagination started who had a good time hanging out in this chair. I imagine it must be people from 'a high class', or living the good life that could afford a room like this. While taking pictures in other rooms I was still thinking about this room...it had something specials...
I try to imagine what the first settlers viewed when they went west across the US. Thousands of these buffalo roamed the land and covered the prairie. I was able to see a herd of several hundred, a small amount compared to what used to be.

I woke up feeling a little surreal this morning. Guess I better pass it on.

It's hard to believe this place is real, let alone a fresh dusting of snow and the fog creeping down into the valley. I felt special capturing this moment by myself, with the odd person walking by on a crisp morning in fall.
It is still hard to imagine i was standing here looking out in front of me.
I'm glad i got this on film.
