"One Word"

A chapter page title, I especially like the paper used.

The tree saw itself and felt empowered

It heard about the genocide

Of friends and family in the forest

Just to build something for humans

Sturdy and trustworthy

These same beings

Didn’t care about the desolation and loss

The depression they inflicted

Forgotten in every day moments of

Work work work and a little bit of video

Meanwhile, the forest was stripped bare

Until the haunting and day of revenge

I’ll show you what it is like when the outside

Breaks in

Branches will shatter dishes

Scratch up your floors

Shred your clothes

Invade your cupboards

Leaves make linoleum treacherous

And then you will see

Who is truly endangered

And who is still filled with might

This tree will outlive you

And your children and children’s children

You cannot kill a tree

With a mere axe or saw

(That handle may even an accomplice and forest friend)

You cannot murder the collective consciousness of nature

It will instead invade your home and imagination.

Yesterday was Remembrance Sunday. We in the UK tell ourselves that we remember those killed in the wars. There is of course nobody left to remember the fallen of WWI, and very few still have a memory of people killed in WWII. The truth is that we are dealing with an imagined memory. And this imagination is publicly organised and kept alive by various interest groups, in State, Church and civil society. In some ways it is like Christmas, with Remembrance Sunday having its own liturgy, music and solemn processions. There are even special remembrance decorations that each year are taken out of storage and, as here, are mounted to the memorials of the war dead.

Having taken the picture of a male Wandering Ringtail Damselfly from under and after downloading it onto my computer, I saw at the junction of its thorax and abdomen the figure of a masked little boy with a striped T-shirt, riding a scooter :) Can you see it too ?!

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, sang John Lennon :))

This weathered metal tray was thrown away on the street as trash and catching some sunlight. I thought it was a baking sheet for cookies. But according to the experts, that's not the case. So it's just my imagination. :-)

I just found I was mostly right. It's a vintage baking tray for éclairs. :-D

Use your imagination, what's inside the corridor?

In fact, this is a IKEA mirror, the reflection creates this scene@

"Imagination that compares and contrasts with what is around as well as what is better and worse is the living power and prime agent of all human perception judgement and emotional reaction."

Experimenting a little with an artistic approach to some trees and how I imagine them to feel and look in an imaginary world. Soft and gentle with blotches of green an silvers.

(Away for a few days with work so will catch up with all my flickr friends photos at the weekend. Have a great rest of the week everyone :)

...Imagination’s jewel emerges seizing

my imagination—brainwaves of waterwaves

turquoise upon indigo, aqua upon seamills of my mind, mindstroke

seastroke… to the glittering saintencrusted piazzas

breaststroke… reststroke. plunge and risebreathe.

lungsburst, heartfelt

home, the Republic’s pureform—where nothing is—

until I find lions and ocelots in mosaics

and in fretworks worrynots of pink palaces and mahogany violins...

I am back to my yellow challenge: "What does yellow represent" in Google and this was their response: "The Color Yellow. Yellow, the lightest hue of the spectrum, signifies joy, happiness, betrayal, optimism, caution, idealism, imagination, hope, sunshine, summer, gold, philosophy, dishonesty, cowardice, jealousy, covetousness, deceit, illness, hazard and friendship". So I decided to try my hand at

imagination, and found it a pretty big challenge, I hope you like what I have done.

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

As the holidays approach, especially this Thanksgiving, remember to give thanks for all you have and those you have in your life. For those of us without family, and those of us who suffer from depression, the holidays are a difficult time to contend with. Wishing you and those you love a happy, healthy and Blessed Thanksgiving.♥

Whatever the mode – from the snapshot to the decisive moment to multi-media montage – the intent and purpose of photography is to render in visual terms feelings and experiences that often elude the ability of words to describe. In any case, the eyes have it, and the imagination will always soar farther than was expected :-)

“A man, to be greatly good, must imagine intensely and comprehensively; he must put himself in the place of another and many others; the pains and pleasures of his species must become his own. The great instrument of moral good is the imagination.”

― Percy Bysshe Shelley
