Okay, time to round up those bookstore gift certificates and head out for some wonderful after-Christmas sales. And I've got just the idea! :) This is my first and probably last shameless promotion of a good friend...

Before my first trip to Sweden several years ago, I was introduced, through a mutual friend via email, to a very nice man ... Johan Theorin. We struck up a friendship, and he eventually offered to show me around his city of Göteborg. We met in the summer of that year, and he was nicer in person than he was over email.
Working at a small publisher doing translations, and the like, he told me of a book he was working on that would hopefully one day be published. I was excited to find, in 2006, that his book was complete and being published locally in Sweden. In July of that year I took my family over there for a holiday to meet my Swedish friend and his family. His mother and father lived on the opposite coast on the island of Öland, and were nice enough to accept the four of us to visit them after I conducted my business in Göteborg.
We spent 2-3 days with his parents showing us all over the island. They became good friends and are amazingly generous people.
And here we are at the end of 2008, and again I am excited to find Johan's book is now translated in who-knows-how-many languages, and is available for the first time through a North American distributor with a fresh new translation.
Echoes From the Dead, not nearly as morbid as it may sound, is now available for you to go out and buy about 30 copies each. *lol* It is an honestly great first attempt at fiction, and he has already completed his second book. I'm so very proud of my friend, Johan, and wish him success.

Today, I read a discussion about building outfits around shoes. So I was inspired to make this collage of outfits I've built around my favorite spectator pumps.
I feel so energized by photography right now. I am busy with portrait work and keep coming up with self portrait idea that I want to pursue. I can't create them all so for now I just write them down in my "idea book".

Macro Monday project – 01/24/11
"Imagination”
38in x 23.7in. Digital Photography. I took this photo because I searched for cool ideas with lightbulbs and got an example of someone capturing the sunlight through the bulb and I thought it was really cool. This photo was taken with a view of the Phoenix Mountain Preserves so that is what you see in the background. The sun was about 25 minutes away from going behind the mountains. I took this photo with a shutter speed of 1/400th of a second, an ISO of 100, and an aperture of 8.0. I think this photo turned out okay. I wanted the light coming through the lightbulb to be a little bit more orange, but it was a cloudy day and the clouds were turning the sunlight very white. I boosted the contrast and saturation on this quite a bit. I boosted the curves substantially as well to get the mid-tones as well. It helped get the light bulb an orange tint like I wanted. I especially like the sunlight line on the inside of my hand where I am holding the bulb. I think that helps out the photo very much.
Just working on some more Ideas for the next build. want to implement a higher detail into every build and push the unique quality each time.
I realize now I forgot to tell you all this was on LEGO Ideas. Support has been awesome so far, and with your help, this could be an official LEGO set!

tried to avoid this for a while.... had been tagged before, but always acted as if I didn't notice.... perhaps its time to say something.... my good friend Neaz Ahmed did all the damage.... the following is the consequence of that damage....
1. My Flickr nick was taken from a dialogue in the movie “V for Vendetta”
2. A man with multiple aims; ended up nowhere. Wanted to be a scientist (when at primary), then an astronomer (when at secondary), then a military officer (higher secondary). Failed in business quite early right after coming out of the university, and ended up as a bloody market researcher! The world isn’t perfect!
3. Had a tremendous fascination for reading facts. Never read fiction; as I always believe facts are stranger than fiction. My focus in study was on anything military, especially military strategy; still maintain a sizable library at home on this. Studied multiple other stuff as supplementary, starting from history, to geography, to diplomacy, to what not
4. Used to make fleets of military ships with cardboard, keeping all the practical factors in mind, using all the knowledge gathered through reading. That was my playground for practicing military strategy and tactics. BTW, still fancy my chances with card-boards, tapes and staple pins
5. Got admitted at the university to study English; but somehow ended up studying business
6. Started writing during the second semester at the university; lost interest after my favourite teacher used my writing for one of his newspaper article…. Of course without permission
7. Spent the school days being a good boy; spent the college days playing cricket; spent the university days taking bhaab with girls (u know, bhaabzzzz)
8. Missing the time that I had wasted just by sleeping!! Could’ve done so much!! I’m just a lazy person :(
9. Love cricket. Missing the days when we fled the field after a poor performance batting first, the other team couldn’t catch us as we hid ourselves in the roof of a building! Still like to skip sleep to watch cricket
10. I do not have an icon; I do not follow anyone
11. Not a person who lives to eat
12. Current love is photography; which was born out of travel, work pressure and poor memory
13. My biggest inspiration in photography……. My family; my biggest push behind photography came after I got married

I took a friend out this morning and suffered a barracking when out I pulled a hand brush to first clean the stone and then "strategically place" the leaves!!!!
I bet the guy who arrive to shoot as we left, thought the scene was au natural....
Working on an alternative hull using the new hull parts.
The big disadvantage of those new hull pieces is that they offer no decent stern. It's just the same part as the bow. For anyone who is into ships that looks very awkward. With a combination of snotted slopes and curved bricks I tried to get an aft hull matching the shape of the old type. It's a bit complicated perhaps but I like it so far.
I'll be continuing on this hull, in the meantime I am in need of more supporters for the project. Ships do not seem to be popular on LEGO Ideas. It's going to be a tough run to 10000...

6x6(ish) decagon, fits a round 2x2 smoothly inside. had no idea that using hinge bricks with cheese would creat a 36 degree angle, so i had to go with it..
