The 39mm thread mount lenses for the Zenit cannot be used on a Leica, Fed or Zorki because the Zenit's flange distance is too large, and neither can the Braun Paxette's 39mm thread mount lenses, for the same reason.

Well then perhaps the Paxette lenses can be mounted and focused on a Zenit, is what I thought to myself and guess what? It works. Here with a Enna Werke Tele-Ennalyt 1:3.5 13.5cm.

I wonder whether anyone ever tried this before or whether I'm the first crackpot who tried.

Let's say you need a roof. Let's say you need it for your huge AT-AT model :) .

Wedge plates have numerous limitations and the most obvious one is lack of variety. (Also, they are studded and have terrible, toothed edges) So if you need specific angles of a trapezoid, studless roof (for your AT-AT, for instance ;) ), you need something better.

The red parts you see here are plates 1 x 4 with studs on ends. The rest is obvious. I positioned the red plates MORE OR LESS in the right place, but you need to experiment to achieve a desired angle between yellow plates. There are lots of studholes to be used, you know :) .

When you're done with experimenting, just add a mirror reflection of your setup symetrically and there you have it - a trapezoid roof. You may also need to strenghten the red plates, adding another big plate underneath.

The hand is supposed to be mine trying to reach from under all the artsy clutter below (my projects) reaching futily toward the other ideas I don't have time to do. Think Monty Python. hehe

This was done on a large Moleskine Cahier blank journal as a product demo for AMP. The Cahier is bound in kraft paper card stock and has the classic Moleskine pocket in the back.

I sound like a used car salesman. LOL Ok, did a collage using various handmade papers and collage elements from Autumn Moon Paper. I've made notes as to which paper is which.

My winning model of Brickset's mascot Huwbot is on LEGO Ideas. Support is appreciated.

There's also instructions on him on Rebrickable. Build your own now! Made by enigmatic mysterys person.

This bit refurbished version is photographed and assembled by Brickset's Huw, used here with permission. Thanks Huw!

The capture was taken at the butterfly house of our local zoo. This place is the home of dozens of butterflies and could be photographer's heaven but it is also warm, humid and often quite crowded with people. As a consequence I usually don't spend as much time in there as I would like to and I'm quite happy that on my last visit I managed a few acceptable shots. The butterfly in this photo is also known as Paper Kite or Large Tree Nymph.

Sorry, I'm behind with commenting but I'm sick. I haven't been sick for years and it's a rather unpleasant experience. I'll try to catch up later today but I'm not sure how far I will get as I still have a terrible headache.

The official LEGO Ideas blog has just confirmed that nine LEGO Ideas projects that have hit the 10,000 votes required to go on to the first review of 2016.

The nine projects include two Star Wars based ideas - a rolling BB-8 and the Jedi high council chamber. There are four minifigure scale buildings: an old fishing store, modular railway station, Jurassic Park visitor centre and a gingerbread house. The movie based project this time is Johnny Five, a model of the eponymous robot. Finally, in the science themed section we have a fossil museum display of dinosaur skeletons and a functional model of a particle accelerator.

I’m happy to share with you my project based on the stories of Zorro, a fictional character created by writer Johnston McCulley, who has been the subject of numerous novels and many film and television adaptations. Zorro is a masked hero who defends the people of California from bandits. He is always accompanied by his loyal horse, Tornado, and is famous for his signature mark, the letter “Z”, which he carves as a symbol of victory.

For this project, I decided to recreate the mythical pose of Zorro, sitting on his horse and brandishing his fencing blade. The base represents the Californian landscape, featuring a cactus and rocky terrain. The model consists of a total of 1,200 pieces.

So...winter has decided to arrive early and this morning I woke up to a nice blanket of white covering everything. It seems like when it's cold out, I end up drinking more coffee than usual which not only warms me up, but seems to fill my brain with all sorts of photo ideas :)

Another photo from a recent night walk in London. It is difficult to find a new view of the St Paul's Cathedral from the Millennium Bridge, but I gave it a try... Mr Tripod would have been very handy, but unfortunately was on holidays... Oh well, next time. At least now I have an idea for a photo!
