The man in the suit told protesters that they could not stand on the sidewalk. Later, I overheard him joking with other people about "who is Said anyway?" When he was informed of the situation, he was more sympathetic and returned to the building.

Rockville, Maryland Sunday April 8, 2018. Around one hundred progressive activists and supporters gathered in the cafeteria of the County Executive Office building for a Seder inspired political event incorporating some features from the Jewish religious tradition. A real rabbi read a "List Of Plagues" affecting our County, including poverty and economic inequality, racism and the erasure of African American history and culture, lack of affordable housing, mass incarceration, ICE raids, traffic congestion and lack of public transportation, gun violence, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia, environmental injustice, lack of access to healthcare, educational inequality and more. Over eighteen selected candidates vying for the progressive vote were invited to participate. After "one minute*" individual introductory speeches each candidate met 'speed dating' style with a small group of voters, addressed a single issue at a time and then moved on to another group and another issue. Sounds complicated but it worked very well. Thanks to Progressive Neighbors, Progressive Maryland, Our Revolution and Metro DC Democratic Socialists for making this event a big success.

*The "one minute" time limit turned out to be unrealistic and was pretty much ignored by the speakers.

There were several children at the protest.

Early in the protest, around 20 people were in front of 450 Main Street. Later that number grew to around 50+

His shirt seems to be asking what about Zaim's children and his friends. Though the message from the protest was about freeing Said Zaim-Sassi, several people there emphasized the negative impact that such raids have on the bystanders--children, especially.

Activists marching downtown during rush hour got the attention of a captive audience. Lieberman (and his staff) refused an audience with even one of the protesters.
