Followed by the panel discussions on the state of the mobility industry and how the changes affect and bring new services / products to consumers. rLoop team member looking at a model of the rLoop hyperloop pod in the FOMTx exhibit hall of Autodesk University 2017. rLoop’s magnetic levitation system is among the most interesting and unique elements of their design. While most teams competing in the Hyperloop Pod competition rely on air bearings to remove friction, rLoop chose magnets as they feel the technology is more commercially viable. The system doesn’t actually require a track, enabling the pod to move left and right as easily as forward and backward.
