Auch in dieser schweren Zeit, gibt es immer noch Orte an denen man etwas zur Ruhe kommt und durchatmen kann. Ich hoffe ihr alle habt solche Orte.
Natürlich ist es wichtig, sich an die vorherschenden Regeln zu halten, um sich selbst und andere zu schützen, aber jedes Individuum braucht einen Platz der inneren Ruhe.

The Uglich hydroelectric station is a small hydroelectric station of a river-bed type located on the Volga River in the city of Uglich in the Yaroslavl Region. It is included in the Volga-Kama cascade of hydropower stations, being its second stage (the first is the Ivankovo hydroelectric station in the city of Dubna, Moscow region). Together with the Rybinsk hydroelectric station (Yaroslavl region, Rybinsk).
The Uglich hydroelectric complex includes a low-pressure channel earthen dam (length 314 meters, height 27 meters), a seven-span concrete spillway dam (total length 179 meters, each span 19.8 meters), a hydroelectric building with two hydraulic units, an open switchgear 220 kV.
The dam of the Uglich hydroelectric station forms the Uglich reservoir, which provides the water level necessary for navigation in the Volga. Construction began in 1938. Because of World War II, the construction of hydropower plants was interrupted and the station was fully commissioned in 1955.
The capacity of the Uglich hydroelectric station is 120 MW (with a design head of 113 meters), the average annual output is 240 million kWh. The dam is designed to skip 11,600 cubic meters. m of water per day. Along the dam of Uglich hydroelectric station passes the road and pedestrian road. In 2007, a hydropower training center was opened on the territory of the Uglich hydropower plant, on the basis of which in 2010 the Uglich hydropower museum was opened.

The "Porogi" hydroelectric power plant is a small hydroelectric power plant on the Bolshaya Satka River in the Satka District of the Chelyabinsk Region, near the village of Porogi . The oldest continuously operating (until 2017) hydroelectric power plant in Russia (commissioned in 1910). A monument of history and culture of regional significance since 1996, a monument of international significance to UNESCO since 1993.
Like I announced yesterday, You see here again the hydroelectric power plant in the valley Niezelgrund in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The winter has made that place to a bizarre ice landscape. I've heard already, that it would look like that here during the winter. When I stood in front of it, that view still took my breath away. I made some more photos here from different angles. I can't decide what I like most. Thats why I'm going to publish all of them step by step.
Wie gestern angekündigt seht Ihr heute noch einmal das Wasserkraftwerk im Niezelgrund im Elbsandsteingebirge. Der Winter hat diesen Ort zu einer bizarren Eislandschaft gemacht. Ich hatte schon davon gehört, dass es hier im Winter so aussehen kann. Als ich dann davor stand hat es mir der Anblick trotzdem den Atem verschlagen. Es gibt noch ein paar Fotos aus anderen Blickwinkeln. Da ich mich nicht entscheiden kann welcher mir besser gefällt, werd ich wohl nach und nach alle veröffentlichen.

In the search for photo motifs, I came across hydroelectric power plants. This one is nicely situated - the facade certainly deserves a new coat of paint - instead it has only been patched up. Now it looks like the building has a skin disease!

Today we go again to the Nieselgrund hydroelectric power station in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. However, the picture is from last spring, because I don't have much time for new tours at the moment. A situation that will hopefully change again soon.
The place is always worth a visit because of the atmosphere that prevails here (every time it reminds me of an abandoned temple in the jungle). This morning, however, the sun drew my attention to one detail, the moss-covered rocks in the river.
Heute gehts mal wieder zum Wasserkraftwerk Nieselgrund im Elbsandsteingebirge. Das Bild stammt allerdings vom letzten Frühjahr, da ich im Moment gerade wenig Zeit für neue Touren habe. Ein Zustand, der sich hoffentlich bald wieder ändern wird.
Der Ort ist, auf Grund der Atmosphäre die hier herrscht (sie erinnert mich jedesmal an einen verlassenen Tempel im Jungle) immer einen Besuch wert. An diesem Morgen hat mich die Sonne allerdings auf ein Detail besonders aufmerksam gemacht, die Moos bedeckten Felsen im Fluß.

This is absolutely my highlight of my short series from the Ice World at the hydroelectric power plant Niezelgrund in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The ice made the whole wall to a breathtakingly beautiful piece of art, what You don't see so often. For those of You, who didn’t see that place completely yet but want that, I recommend You my photos of the last two days.
Dies ist für mich mein absolutes Highlight bei meiner kurzen Serie von der Eiswelt am Wasserkraftwerk Niezelgund in der Sächsischen Schweiz. Das Eis hat die ganzen Mauern zu einem atemberaubend schönen Kunstwerk gemacht, was man so sehr selten zu sehen bekommt. Wer diesen Ort noch nicht in seiner Gänze gesehen hat, dies jedoch möchte, den empfehle ich meine Fotos der letzten beiden Tage.

Powerhouse @ Stave Lake
Stave Falls Dam is a dual-dam power complex on the Stave River in Stave Falls, British Columbia, Canada . The dam was completed in 1912 for the primary purpose of hydroelectric power production. To increase the capacity of Stave Lake, the dam was raised in 1925 and the Blind Slough Dam constructed in an adjacent watercourse 500 m (1,600 ft) to the north, which was the site of the eponymous Stave Falls. In 2000, the dam's powerhouse was replaced after a four-year upgrade. The powerhouse was once British Columbia's largest hydroelectric power source and is a National Historic Site of Canada.

Atatürk Dam - this is dam and artificial lake (Lake Atatürk) on the river Euphrates. Built in 1983, was opened in 1992. The construction cost was approximately 1.4 billion USD. Named after Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the current Turkish state.
Dam is 1819 meters long and 169 meters high. Surface formed lake has a surface area 817 km2. Hydroelectric power is the power of 2400 MW.
It is one of the largest dams in the world. Damming the waters of the Euphrates River and the construction of underground channels have allows for irrigation of agricultural crops.

Still the hydroelectric power plant Niezelgrund in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Before we will get closer to that phantastic ice sculptures, here is another view from the distance. This time from a different position. I wasn't sure if its worth to publish that photo, ore if its to similar to yesterday. So I asked my family. They vote to do because its the same object here but the mood is quite different.
That wall is, by the way, almost doubble the length than the part You see on the photograph. When I was here during the summer, making photos, I was standing between the rock and the tree on the right side, hard to imagine now.
Noch immer am Wasserkraftwerk Niezelgrund im Elbsandsteingebirge. Bevor wir uns diesen grandiosen Eis Skulpturen nähern, noch ein Blick aus der Distanz. Diesmal von einer anderen Position. Ich war mir nicht sicher, ob das Bild es wert ist es zu veröffentlichen, oder ob es im Prinzip das Gleiche ist wie gestern. Also hab ich meine Familie befragt. Die war dafür, da das Objekt zwar das Selbe ist, die Stimmung sich jedoch deutlich unterscheidet.
Die Mauer ist übrigens fast nochmal so lang, wie man hier auf dem Bild erkennen kann.
Als ich hier im Sommer die Fotos gemacht habe stand ich zwischen dem Baum und dem Felsen auf der rechten Seite, jetzt kaum vorstellbar.

In 1907, the Royal Prussian State decided the channeling of the River Aller on a route between Celle and the Leineeinmündung at Hademstorf. The town of Celle was given the right to use the hydroelectric power generated by the dam. The usable slope is 2.80 meters. After completion, the hydroelectric power plant went on 16 April 1911 to the grid. 1929 was equipped with three Francis turbines Oldau hydroelectric power plant sold to the Preußen Elektra and operated by this until 1972. Following temporary closure, the imminent demolition by the district president in Lüneburg was prohibited and the facility declared a technical monument.
After a ten-year shutdown, the hydroelectric power plant was put back into operation. The annually produced electricity of about 2.5 to 3 million kilowatt hours is fed into the power grid. The Oldau hydroelectric power station is the only one of its kind that has been preserved in its original condition in Germany and supplies electricity to the grid.

What You see here is looking like a temple in the south american jungle but it is in fact a hydroelectric power plant in the valley Niezelgrund in the Elbe Sandstone mountains. Already since the year 1919 they are producing energy out of the power of water here. Its easily to see, that this photo isn't up to date, to realize that I only have to take a look out of the window. I show it to you, so You can see the difference to the photograph I made yesterday and I'm going to publish tomorrow.
Das was hier aussieht wie ein Tempel im Jungle von Südamerika ist in Wirklichkeit ein Wasserkraftwerk im Niezelgrund im Elbsandsteingebirge in Sachsen. Bereits 1910 wurde hier Strom mittels der Kraft von Wasser erzeugt. Das Foto ist, wie unschwer zu erkennen ist, nicht ganz aktuell, dafür muss ich nur mal kurz aus dem Fenster sehen. Ich zeige es deshalb, damit Ihr den Unterschied zu der Aufnahme sehen könnt, die ich gestern gemacht habe und morgen hier veröffentlichen werde.

The Itaipu Dam (Guarani: Presa Itaipu, Portuguese: Barragem de Itaipu, Spanish: Represa de Itaipú; Portuguese pronunciation: [itɐjˈpu], locally: [ita.iˈpu], Spanish pronunciation: [itaiˈpu]) is a hydroelectric dam on the Paraná River located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay. The name "Itaipu" was taken from an isle that existed near the construction site. In the Guarani language, Itaipu means "the sounding stone". It is a binational undertaking run by Brazil and Paraguay at the Paraná River on the border section between the two countries, 15 km (9.3 mi) north of the Friendship Bridge. The project ranges from Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, and Ciudad del Este in Paraguay, in the south to Guaíra and Salto del Guairá in the north. The installed generation capacity of the plant is 14 GW, with 20 generating units providing 700 MW each with a hydraulic design head of 118 metres (387 ft). In 2013 the plant generated a record 98.6 TWh, supplying approximately 75% of the electricity consumed by Paraguay and 17% of that consumed by Brazil.
Of the twenty generator units currently installed, ten generate at 50 Hz for Paraguay and ten generate at 60 Hz for Brazil. Since the output capacity of the Paraguayan generators far exceeds the load in Paraguay, most of their production is exported directly to the Brazilian side, from where two 600 kV HVDC lines, each approximately 800 kilometres (500 mi) long, carry the majority of the energy to the São Paulo/Rio de Janeiro region where the terminal equipment converts the power to 60 Hz.

Here is a closeup of the remnants of the former hydroelectric power plant at the stream Wieslauf in the Swabian-Franconian Forest. It is surrounded by a fence to stop people from going inside. Of course I could have climbed over the fence quite easily but after contemplating the though for a moment I decided that the fence is there for a reason and it doesn't make sense to risk my life for a photo. :)
