When I step out my door, the first thing I see is this beautiful hydrangea bush. So I decided to photograph it foor the challenge within 5 minutes walk.

Blue hydrangea with a small black bee.
I'm assuming this is some kind of black bee. If anyone knows different, please let me know.
The detail of the little buds and flowerets on the lacecap hydrangea drew my attention. This is a blend of 3 images to get the detail across a wider field. Found in the gardens of Schloss Bad Homburg.

I find spent hydrangea blossoms so fascinating. They are unique in that they don't crumble after they die.

Hydrangea ‘Hoshizora’ (‘Starry Sky’ in English) is a cultivar of Hydrangea macrophylla native to Japan. I wanted to portray the starry sky in the beautiful hydrangea flowers. In my viewfinder, the stream of little blue flowers looked like starlets in the galaxy and the backlit leaf shined like an aurora glowing in the starry sky.
