The severe drought in the Northeast Corner of Connecticut is affecting everything from the grass—almost totally dead now, and the beautiful hydrangea bushes along one of our fences. They began dying almost as soon as they bloomed.
Beginning to fade, but still delightful.
Archives again, but I'll get out again one day.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)

There are many hydrangeas on this side of the park. In the background is the red Krall barn, which has been paralyzed for its final details for three years. It is a pity.
Thank you very much for your visit and taking the time to comment! Really appreciated!
On certain plants, I actually like the leaves as much or more than the flowers. The newer varieties of Hydrangea are one such plant.
The old world Snowball Hydrangea have large and somewhat dull leaves, whereas some of the newer varieties have sturdy, waxy, and deep green leaves which I find so beautiful. And those sawtooth edges are so precise and perfect!
This Hydrangea is growing in my garden. The heat burns off the flowers not long after they bloom, but it is a lovely pastel blue and sometimes has a cream centre on the flowers. Not a lot is growing in the garden at the moment - I really need to buy some new plants, but due to Covid running riot at the moment, I am a bit nervous to venture out. I have a voucher that I received at Christmas for a local nursery to spend as well.

I find spent hydrangea blossoms so fascinating. They are unique in that they don't crumble after they die.
