About Power Brake Service:
We build and Rebuild endless varieties of new and classic brakes for every type of vehicle and trailer. The company was started by George Sweeting in 1950 who worked for the railroads and Lockhead, it is now run by his son Bob Sweeting who learned about modifying cars while drag racing in the 60's, and Bob's son Matt Sweeting (who grew up in all of this) is taking over more and more responsibilities. We were a Warehouse Distributor for Bendix for 20 years until they sold they sold their Power Brake Division to Bosch, which is when we became a special modification contractor with Bosch for their power brakes - which come on most new American vehicles. Our ability to design brake systems, rather than just replace rotors and pads, has taken us to amazing places and we have worked on amazing projects. We have:
Hydro-Boost Conversions
Vacuum Brake - Conversions, Upgrades, and Modifications
Wilwood and Brembo Disc Brake Kits
Master Cylinders
Stainless Braided Hoses
Classic Car / Muscle Car Stock Brake Restoration and Rebuilding (Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, Ford & GM Truck, Mopar, Rolls Royce)
Light Truck / Medium Truck Hydro-Boost Replacement Parts and Conversions
Medium Truck / Heavy Truck Hydro-Max, Air brake, and Air-hydraulic systems - and Hydro-Max Conversions for the obsolete Delco Hypower
Conversions for the obsolete Buick Grand National, T-bird SC, Land Rover, Jeep and all other electric brake booster / electric powermasters
Modified brakes for Altered Bed Fleet Vehicles
Modified sensitivity for the Handicaped
Disc/Drum and Disc/Disc Proportioning Valves
We have worked on everything from propane powered trams to roller coasters, cranes, parade floats, multi engine street rods, classic european cars, double decker buses, and a Freightliner racing truck. Our favorite is working on big engine muscle cars that make too little vacuum and need more stopping power.

See the video at www.sweetingmedia.com. Here is the Cadillac display at the Concours d'Elegance, 2011. The concept on show is the Cadillac Ciel concept, Jay Leno just happened to come by for his Jay's Garage shoot during ours. Jay interviews Ed Welburn, VP of Global Design for General Motors. We talk to Ed as well, and we are impressed. Bob pointed out to Ed off camera that this car, rather than being just a concept, would be great for putting an American car in the Rolls Royce Ghost or Phantom field, Ed liked that idea.

Here we are on the peripherals of the Concours d'Elegance, and Bob and Matt are taking a test drive in the Jaguar XJ. This was a classic XK at their display. The video is available at www.sweetingmedia.com, and www.youtube.com/powerbrakeservice#p/u/5/rztGfndOtIg. The ride was smooth, the power was definitely there, and the interior was... well it was very nice! Personally I would go for the XK, because I'm not into the back of the roofline on the XJ, but I have nothing else bad to say about it.

Here Bob Sweeting takes a test drive in the new Land Rover - Range Rover Evoque, I drove it too, and I've got to say, it is a whip. The video is available at www.sweetingmedia.com and www.youtube.com/user/powerbrakeservice#p/u/4/XlYY7YGIPPc. I didn't expect this experience, it cut like a knife around corners and the turbocharged 4 cylinder was awesomely quick. I always want V8s in my cars, and I have been really disappointed by significant turbo lag before, but there was no lag with this car. It is about half the price of a standard Land Rover, so it is their attempt at an entry level car, $40,000 is pretty high for entry level, but it brings a lot more people closer to the brand than the $80,000 price tag does.

We have:

Here Bob and Matt are at the Russo & Steele auction held at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Monterey. This show specializes in Classic American cars, but sells exotics as well. Here the highlights were a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 Pilot Car, a 1967 Corvette race car, and a Presidential limo.
