Another shot from the beautiful sunflower fields on Hayling Island

A Lensbaby photo presented in B&W of a man and woman crossing an intersection in downtown Nevada, Iowa. I’ve bent the lens to a hard left in this shot, catching the woman mostly in focus with the man starting to blur out-of-focus as the lens effect blurs to the right. In my mind’s eye, the lens effect almost makes it look like the man is going faster than the woman. It was about 7°F (-13°C) when I took this photo, so yes, hurry-up Helen, it’s cold out here!

Go in a hurry to the goal

This common shelduck (tadorna tadorna) was suddenly in a hurry when we came a bit close with our boat. I had never seen a shelduck up close before, so I was super happy I managed to capture a nice takeoff. Look at those eyes - this is typical of Bella, about to take off in excitement as soon as I throw a toy for her to chase. She still behaves as though she’s a kitten. It hardly seems possible that when she came to live with me she was still convalescent & I had to restrict her movements for a while. Happy Caturday.

Another day of full sun but no transects today, so I'll just have a lazy day checking for egg laying locations. Hurry on Sundown is a. great track by Hawkwind, who were one of the first gigs I ever went to as a teenager all those years ago. When I'm taking sunsets I do love the intense colours that develop after the sun has dropped below the horizon.

Tyson is looking good today, although a bit cold.

New Bike Tunnel Amsterdam with Delft Blue Tiles. It’s inspired by a restored work by Dutch tile painter Cornelis Boumeester, whose works depicting of the warship Rotterdam and the herring fleet. The original crest on the stern is replaced with the Amsterdam coat of arms.

It is all about decoction.
