This bobcat was in our yard hunting rabbits. As you can see the rabbit's strategy was to wait until the last possible second before fleeing from the bobcat. I walked out in the yard and just surprised it stalking the rabbits.
Being a wild kid is fun
because I can jump from
tree to tree,
swing from vine,
loving hunting rabbits,
trust in having fun.

Lieutenant Smudge the 2nd is a stray cat we think may of been dumped as he has been fixed, but is extremely affectionate. Possibly a cat that got too big for the others (maybe a child's) as he is big for a cat.
Currently he's living in a field hunting rabbits for food, but we have introduced him to dry food and has learned to trust us greatly. Often we'll go for a walk in a field and will only appear if he sees us, ignoring everybody else.
We will try and introduce him into my other halves (who's lap he's sitting in) mum's home with Kiki (http://www.flickr.com/photos/wolfiezero/tags/kiki/). We can't take him in as we have the gerbils and judging from seeing him hunt rabbits he will try and kill and eat the gerbils.
As we headed up Bay Bolton Avenue, three gentlemen were preparing for a day out hunting rabbits. One man was preparing his ferret for a bit of sport, and the other two men were about to get their Harris Hawks in action. All three men were extremely friendly, and delighted to show the ferret and the hawks.
My favorite picture of my mother, right after she and Dad were married. She cut down a pair of his pants so that she could go hunting with him. They were hunting rabbits this day -- Mom's listening for the rustle of her quarry.

I'm not sure about this one. It says something about hunting rabbits, freezing them, and then transport the bodies to thermal power stations to use them as fuel.
No estoy seguro de este. Dice algo de matar conejos en el parque, congelar los cuerpos y luego llevarlos a centrales termoeléctricas para quemarlos.

CANADA LYNX(Lynx canadensis) AND SNOWSHOE HARE(Lepus americanus)
Late October
Mount Albert, Gaspesie National Park, Quebec, Canada
Despite its best efforts to hide, a snowshoe (varying) hare has captured the attention of a Canada lynx. If the hare acts quickly, it may escape. With its large "snowshoe" hind feet, this hare can bound 12 feet (3.6 meters) in a single leap, even in deep snow.
Still, lynxes specialize in hunting rabbits. They too have broad, well-furred paws and fast reflexes. Lynx hearing and vision are also excellent for tracking rabbits on the run. This hare's fur coat, which varies with the season, will surely stand out against the October snow —the pelt has not yet turned fully white.
Predator and Prey
The Lynx-Hare Link
Canada lynxes eat mostly snowshoe hares - which in turn are preyed on almost exclusively by Canada lynxes. This unusually tight predator-prey relationship means that when hare numbers change, so do lynx numbers (and vice versa), sometimes drastically.
